I've been trying for months to get Windows Vista Home Premium to properly communicate with my Xbox 360, but all my efforts seem to be futile. I don't know what it is exactly, but I know that my computer says that it can't reach my 360 for one reason or another.

Then the other day, I buy a PS3 and with low expectations I attempt to view shared files on my computer. I search wirelessly for my network and it finds my computer and all of my music, pictures, and each one of my hundreds of videos. Does anyone else have the inability to connect their 360 to their Windows operating system? It's not really a big deal now that I have a PS3, but I would still like to stream music and such.

Call tech support. I've been trying to install some things on Vista and I have to say that I'm fairly unimpressed. Media connect works great on XP.

I'm not home and can't remember off the top of my head, but there are two ways to connect to a network computer. One is from the Media plane and one is from setting up a Media Center connection from the System plane. Funny too, my 360 connected just fine to my Mac (running Connect360).

i have vista home premium aswell and all I do is turn on the 360 with the computer already turned on. And then I see a little icon at the bottom left saying xbox 360 not connected, I click it and accept and it works flawlessly. If you dont see a icon then start up windows media player then click library then media sharing, there you should see you 360. just select it and then click allow. If you dont see it check your cables or wireless network stuff. other than that i dont know.

I do get that little icon in my taskbar, it brings up media center and has me go through a connection set-up process, which ends with it telling me that something went wrong. In windows media player, my 360 and my PS3 are both set to "allow." In that same window, however, it does tell me that "sharing is disabled because a network connection was not found." I don't know exactly what that means, especially since the network is working fine, all devices have proper internet connectivity, and my PS3 can access my PC hard drives.

Can't be bothered to see if anyone else has said this, so I'll just type it anyway. Download the newest Media Player, go into media sharing (or something like that, it's in one of the tabs), and allow your 360. You should be able to connect to your 360.

If you're going to mention more than one console, you should be posting this in System Wars.
