can't connect to xbox live

hahaha .... you dont know ... Xbox live is Down all Day today for mantanice .. your router .. hub .. or whatever is fine ..

dont screw with it .. its XBL .. its Down today and will be online tommrow ..

The 24 hours is for the new xbox experience so we have to wait 24 hours which is annoying.

Suddenly I can't connect. I've had live for over 2 years going through a linksys router and it wont let me connect suddenly. I did the test and it fails on the mtu setting so its not my account. i tried setting my router and changing the mtu setting but it still wont work. I dont see why that would suddenly change though. Is there something going on with live? I haven't been able to connect since last night. I also can't get to the xbox live support page which is weird. i can get everywhere else.Walker34

These people amaze me because not only was a message sent out Microsoft did the smart thing and replaced one of hte useless ad panels on the dashboard with a big bright blue sign that says xbox live down september 29th for maintence. Unless your blind or havn't turned on your xbox in 2 weeks this should not be news to you.

No. This is maintenance ONLY in PREPARATION of the November New Xbox experience. Don't expect anything new tomorrow morning. Unless MS surprises us...

no, they r just prepring for the update. the update will be out around the end of octber early nov. i can't of cant wait for it even though its kind of a rip off of miis and sony things going on.

Yes... They are not deleting your profile, or physically removing your Hard Drive...... You just can't connect to Live for up to 24 hours...

you can still do single player stuff or play with someone on your xbox and also you can get your achievements

WHich means in november when the dashboard update coems out. It wont work therefore noone can play Gears 2 either. Good plannin M$. Your number one game will be in jeopardy due to waiting so longFogotmypantz

Correct me if im wrong but do you know what you talking about. If gears is out before the update it will still work you just wont get awarded clothing for your avatar from getting its acheivements. If a game is released after weve got the update we should with most of them get awarded stuff for our avatars. Its not that big deal.
