right so I just got a used copy of Halo 3, and though it was slightly damaged, I figured it would still work. However, I am getting a strange problem. Whenever I put a disc in (not just Halo 3, but any game disc) it says reading for a few moments, and then goes to "Open Tray" It's as though my 360 wont register the disc in the tray! It's really bugging me because I am dieing to play some of my 360 games lol. Anyone know how to fix this?

Sounds like a drive problem. Either it is a dirty lense or the drive has packed in. YOu can get lense cleaning disks fairly cheaply. They are a basic DVD disk with micro fiber brushes on them to clean the lense. I have one and they work great. If that does not work then I'm afraid it sounds as if your disk drive has broken

...seriously? That freaking blows! I have had this console for about half the time as my PS3, and never had a problem from the Sony one...

Swings and roundabouts mate. I've had my PS3 half the time of my 360 and it given me nothing but problems. Try the lense cleaner disk though as you'll probably find that will do it. Dust has a way of getting into everything especially electronic devices. The lense cleaner disks can be used on anything that plays DV's too. Such as DVD players and PS3's. They are handy to have to keep your equipment running well

It sounds like a drive problem to me. If I was you I would send it into Microsoft and get it fixed up.
