I have been buying games since atari, and when the release date was stated you could always pick up the game on that date. Not the day after. I dont care about ship dates. When it says release on the 29th then ship it on the proper date to ensure it will be ready for the 29th. A multi billion dollar business should at least get that!
I go to EB Games to pick up Forza 2 and they say it shipped today will not be in stores until tommorrow. If it says the 29th then relase it on the 29th! i TOOK OFF WORK FOR NOTHING!TMorss
Every game's "release date" is its shipping date. You usually don't see the games till the next day(There are geographical exceptions). This applies to EVERY game, regardless of if it's MS or not.

I don't know what to tell you. Its been that way for awhile where I live. The release date is always the shipment date and then I get the game the next day.Â
The release date means when it will be shipped to stores. Its the same for all games not just MS titles.capthavic
Not true! It has never been that way. I purchased R6 Vegas, Gears Of War, Oblivion, Hmm Forza 1, Halo 2 I can go on forever. A friend of mine is a manager for EB Games. They would always get them the day before. I took a day off because i work a lot and i wanted to be able to enjoy the game i have been waiting a long time for. I am an avid car enthusiast, I actually work in the automobile industry.

wow you have no idea what your talking about. It is ALWAYS like that. The only two exceptions i can think of is when Halo 2 and GeOW came out. Gamestop had same day shipping from there warehouse to the stores. Besides that it is ALWAYS the day after release.
Call up any EB or gamestop and ask them when ANY game on ANY system ships. They will tell you it is released on one day and is available the next.

That's not Microsoft's fault. They say the game will be "released" today - and it was released today. It depends on when EB gets there shipments as to when it will arrive at your store - none the less Microsoft released it as they said.

You also have to factor in the fact that Monday was a holiday & that UPS/FedEx was not shipping on that day. Jheesh...

you read my mind... if you look in the sunday paper Best Buy and Circuit City (and maybe other stores) advertise mario party, forza, mk: a for the wii and a few other games being available on wednesdayÂ
I don't understand this either. You should be able to buy the game today, not tomorrow. Don't tell me it is always like this, I was able to buy Gears of War and Crackdown on the launch dates.

Â
actually you're wrong. Game stores get games a few days to weeks before a release date.
Ever see a game with an orange sticker on it say do not release before so and so date? my copy of halo 2 still has that sticker on it. Just goes to show that stores actually DO get games ahead of time.Â

Actually your wrong!! Only street dated game come to stores early. Trust me I used to work for both gamestopand best buy.
Pfft do you really thing they get every game early... Idiot
Â
Â
They only get BIG games early like Halo 2 etc...
You obviously live in a different dimension then. Everyone in this dimension says games get to stores the day after they get released. You must have somehow fallen through a wormhole and ended up here. Anything else different you've noticed. Was George W Bush president of the US in your world?b11051973
sadly yes he is

Exactly. Holidays can kill some release dates.
They did release it on the 29th. MTBare
Some stores have it, some stores don't. Wait one day and chill out.MTBarehahaha your sig is so funny
Have you never gotten a game the day it comes out from GS/EB? Usually it ships on the release day, and it's the publisher's fault, not GS.
Occasionaly they do come out on the day they're supposed to. FFXII, Halo 2, GTA:SA all had midnight parties.

Actually it is that stores fault. Out of all my doings with EBStop it's because the employees are to lazy to unpack boxes. I have seen them bold face lie to concerning this. I went to pick up Chrome Hounds they said they wouldn't have them til the next day, despite seeing an open box in the floor with them in there.  Â
Â
those who claim "ship date, not release date" are simply dealing with lazy employees at where they shop.Â
Â
this is different thatough considering Monday was a holiday in the US. Â Â

ya but thats not always the case. i worked last night and we still didnt have Forza 2. i called today about half an hour ago and we had it but couldnt sell it.just deal with it
Dude, 29th is it's release day. It was released for shipping, yet the shipping always takes 24 hours. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost positive that if they recieve it on the 29th, then they can put it out. So don't blame anyone except UPS or whoever.
