Been checking out capture cards online. I've been wanting to get one for a while now. Just wanted to know what any of you have and would recommend. Are they easy to install? How about the quality for the price you payed?

Well with a capture card you get what you pay for for the most part... A cheap card gets you cheap quality. I dont have one myself but everyone that i know seem to like the ATI Radeaon All in Wonder cards. Only problem is they dont really sell them anymore lol. I found this though...

If you want high quality HD video go with this:

Intensity is $250.

If you want something of DVD quality go with something like this:

WinTV $70 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

If you just want to post youtube videos anything will do such as this for $25 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

The only problem you'll have with the really cheap capture cards is that they won't do hardware encoding so you're CPU will have to be utilized, but this is only a problem if you have a really bad PC (500mhz or lower).

Also you'll need and a/v switch so that it outputs to both your TV and your PC. You can hook it up straight to your PC but there is a delay and even cards that say they don't have a delay have minor ones where it can be a real annoyance.

Check out: http://www.monoprice.com/products/depart… and look for what type of connection you're going to be using. There are also videos on youtube to show you how to install them if you dont know how. Hope this helps!!
