Hi I was wondering if a cat5 ethernet cable would hook me up to xbox live cuz my father is a computer technician at my school and we were gonna get a 75 ft ethernet cable and hook it into the back of my router so if you know the answer to my question please reply

Cat 5 is good. Cat 6 is better. However it is not necessary.

Cat 6 has better protection against interferance from other devices.
