To be honest, do we really need a slim? In my opinion, the 360 already is pretty compact and not big at all except for the power adapter. However, I'm sure sooner or later MS will release one.
if so it will be a HUGE year for Microsoft, with Natal, Halo:Reach, maybe a slim, and maybe Xbox Live TV. but yea, i would like to see what they come up with looks-wise but prolly wont buy one unless my warrenty runs up and my current 360 breaks
a survey just taken with the elite shows that the failure rate is around 42% :P if they manage to fix the RROD and it costs no more than $300 than I'll probably pick it up :DTo be honest, do we really need a slim? of course :) here you are buddy: http://www.wayofthenerd.com/index.php?/Xbox-360/xbox-360-failure-rate-still-above-other-consoles.htmlI really don't care if it's announced or not. I still have a 360 that I haven't had for two long(on my 2nd xbox). I'll only get a slim(if announced) if it doesn't look completely stupid.orb_03_2006I care as I'm deciding if I should get one now or hold out till E3 for a better product :P
That's total dude. That's just FUD. Now why don't they do a survey of how many have broken that have been bought in the last year? Because the numbers would dwindle and nobody would read those POS "news" articles. This is practically spam and flamebait. Go to system wars. I'm tired of hearing this same old crap nearly every day. Get over it. Xbox 360's had a high failure rate and now they don't, but the average of the two still isn't good. SO they take that average and just go out and say, "this many Xbox's have failed". Big whoop.
And let's not forget that Sony fanboys are probably laughing, while using this little fact in a console war argument on some forum I never heard of before.
I doubt it... it wouldn't be very slim, would it? I mean, they can only make it smaller length-wise. They would still have to have it fairly long to fit the disk drive and power button + memory card slots. And they couldn't make it smaller width-wise because then hard drives wouldn't fit. I'd say the chances are... slim to none. (Sorry, had to)
Slim to none when there's been leaked images of a more square motherboard. They can shrink it's height (if it is standing up).I doubt it... it wouldn't be very slim, would it? i have had my x360 since the day of the aussie launch. i would get a slim for future protection (its been repaired twice already, can't see it lasting another 5 years!) and also the adding of HDMI would be great since my launchy doesn't have it!
Remove the big button and replace it with a smaller one. Slim it down some (it can be done). place the usb slot closer to the drive....Compress this how? I can only see about two inches worth that they could shrink.

They could always remove a memory card slot as well.
if they do make a slim 360 it could and would be a lot smaller than the current 360, they would completely remove the memory card slots(i dont know anyone who even uses them plus you can use USB drives now) take out the disk tray and replace it with a slot much like the Wii's and there have been talks about a internal HDD, i could see them making the slim 360 to be about the size of 2 Wii's put together
I think a redesign is on the way, in the form of a price drop natal bundle. It costs $299.99 now, my guess is Natal will cost $99.99 with a pack in game, and then the bundle will cost $349.99.
I also don't think it will be called a Slim.

of course :) here you are buddy: http://www.wayofthenerd.com/index.php?/Xbox-360/xbox-360-failure-rate-still-above-other-consoles.htmlthat isn't really credible. namely the Jasper, considering that pretty much solved the problems....
Elites were never claimed to be the end of it as far as I know, they were simply the units put through the most stress, labeled as Elite, tacked on a HDD and sold for 300 bucks.
and if that's the poll I've seen 3 other times, the previous one from last year was 57%, so it's pretty obvious the 360s from 2005-2007 are all in there...proving the 2008 on up Xbox have been an overhaul to MS's terrible screwup.
If you've ever had the RROD (which I have several times, but luckily my console has been fixable until this point), then yes a Slim with a fixed motherboard etc would be great
Instead of making a "slim", keep the same form factor but get rid of that 2-ton power brick.
DumbDubya
lol. You mean the ball-and-chain?
wait.. if ms makes its revisions and fixes the rrod....... ps3 fanboys wont have anything left to say..... can you say.... SALES.
Big Deal. So what? Who cares?
What a waste of time. Lets fix the durability issues rather than size issues.
Yes, the new 360 slim looks like it will have a new motherboard...so hopefully, RROD will be fixed...or at least reduced :)We dont need a slim, the 360 is fine as it is.
pete_merlin
Really? What about all the people mailing their broken consoles into microsoft?
I don't undestand the kind of people needing a slim..
Even if it would be one it will be the same...
Ps3 was S**t that's why SONY Slimed it.
X360 looks good like it is now.
And tbh I don't like when company's launch new versions...like Sony and hes PSP...they old PSP owners feel bad..or the DS owners..
My opinion....Make a sistem and Stick to it till you get another next gen sistem....not a new version every year.....it's like a bad joke on gamers...
Just saying.
So X360 stais like this till' X720 or something like that comes out.
Cheers!

not like MS comes out with a different version every 5 months like Nintendo and Playstation hand helds, lol
downsizing the console physically once in its lifetime is not so bad. technology gets better so rapidly
