Changing names & keeping achievements/saves

I was wondering if I can change my profile name and still keep the achievements and save files that are under the other name. I do not have my 360 online. I changed my profile name before and I was unable to access my saved games or achievements under the new name. Can I change it and still keep and access everything???

how can I do it? I changed it once and I lost everything and had to replay all my games to get the achievements and saves again. I have too many games to replay them all if i loose it.
