I have a friend who has about 28,000 points...then I find out he said he gave his account password and login to someone else and that's how he actually got those points. How can someone else get points for you? Plus, isn't it stupid to give out your details to someone else? And here I think, "Damn...I'm playing Mass Effect and it takes me about 3 hours to get one dang achievement."

To some, points don't matter, to others...they'll try to get every single one. (Some are ridiculous by the way to get) All in all, I love playing a game to it's fullest. If it gives me some extra points, well then, so be it. If not, it's just like the old Nintendo days when I beat these freaking hard games with what reward? The feeling of accomplishment. Back to my subject though, I didn't know you can crank up points through someone else.

A player's gamerscore is attached to their gamertag, not stored on their hard drive. Therefore, if you share your account details with another player, they can sign in under your tag and earn points for you. However, this is looked down upon by Microsoft, and can result in your account being permanently banned.

Yeah it happens. There's even people on EBAY that will get you 1000 points for 2.99-4.99 in 2 days. Problem is a ton of people on XBL and PSN are getting their credit card info stolen because they're trading accounts.

Yep. Not to mention that they could somehow KEEP your XBL account on their 360 too. I wouldn't be surprised if they could. I would hate to lose my name. But about the achievement points, I personally find it another way to beat a game or something to shoot for other than just playing the game. It's given me a reason to play MORE instead of every so often. And I think you could possibly hack the point sysem because one of my friend's friends (via the new 'View Friends' button on someone's profile) has 83,000 gamerscore. Seriously......

We 83000 isnt that high. Yeah, it's high for casuals like me, but if you go onto the achievement360.com site, most people there avg about 50-60000 pts. All you have to do is play the easy games, and kids games it's pretty easy.

No. This guy has pretty much every game BEAT, including the arcade games. I was just saying that it's rediculously high and that someone could prob hack it. People hack everything these days.

Possibly. Most people I see who you can tell are cheating all have scores of 130000-200000 though. Kinda like StripclubDJ was doing. His account was banned and he already has another account with as many ach points. Some people have all the time in the world on their hands to get points, and with ach guides you can get 1000/1000 and 200/200 per game if you're dedicated. I'm just not willing to play a game I don't really like 3 times for points.

although i do love achievement points, trading my account to someone else would completely ruin it for me. sure, i love getting them, but it's the sense of accomplishment in getting them that makes it worth it, and if you're having someone else do it for you.. what's the point? waste of money in my opinion.

You just need to play poorly designed-Achievement-list games like King Kong(get 1,000 for beating it) and kiddy games.

If you give someone your gamertag and password all they have to do is change the password and you're stuck

QFT. I dont know why ppl are so obsesive over them. If they could be redeemed for something I would have a different opinion though.

Somehow, I get jealous at the fact that everything (or so I hear) on the Playstation 3 is free. Take this case, I had my original Xbox 360 since launch, it gave up on me about a month ago. I had bought many arcade games and game themes for it, just to buy an Xbox Elite version. Now everytime I want to play my arcade games, I MUST log online to play them.

It sucks, I paid my hard work earned money, I want to play my games offline, since I don't have a wireless connection. Can someone help me get my games back to my new Xbox? Can I call Microsoft or something?

I agree completely. I remember back when I had just gotten The Darkness and my brother came over. I was still at work and by the time I got home he'd already gotten me 4 achievement's. He didn't realize that part of the game for me is those points and the reward of earning them. Since then he's begun walking again and now knows how important it is to earn your wings. God like those guys that glitch to win or the Vegas rubber bandits "Fake it - till you win!"
