I heard that an 18 year old on a child account doesnt become an 'adult' account.

Will I continue missing out on the windows live messenger when I'm 18 or does anyone know any solutions, or is it basically a waiting game?

I've never had a child account (I'm 22 mind you) perhaps your parents have to turn it into an adult account.
