How did it fail? For the first game in the series it got really good reviews, sure not Halo 3 great but much better than any recent Tony Hawks game but I still think Jeff should ammend his review as it just sounded like he wasn't very good at teh game and blamed teh game rather than himself.WAAAAA!! are you crazy???
Halo3
Skate have just tried to hard to be different from TH but have failed

I didn't base it on Jeff's review though, im just saying Halo 3 will offer more, But at the end of the day its what ever tickles ur Pickle....FPS or Skateboarding........?
haha thats like, exactly the same as me
Ya i can't decide either. I've played the skate demo like 50+ times. I love halo too even though i haven'treally played halo 2 that much. And I'm going to buy one of them in a few days so I'm kinda frustrated :?.mattpunkgd
i dont understand being confused between the 2. it's halo3 msn. but to put your mind at ease skate is an ea game, it would be monthly if ea thought you would buy more than 1 a year. ea is about quanity, not quality.i was wondering if skate is yearly because i am also tossed up between the 2

I had the same kind of decision to make as you. I decided on buying Halo 3, and just continuing to play the skate demo. You can do a lot of cool stuff in the demo level, and it seems to be fulfilling my skating desires until I can get the whole game. Plus it helps me realize that I shouldn't play for too long (timed demo)since I have to get up for work in the mornings.
Edit: I just saw you made your decision like 2 hours ago, but I'll keep this up anyway for anyone else who might have the same question. Have fun with skate.
u r retarted if u chosse skate over halo3 but if u do that ur stupid descission just wanted to point that outkillagamea1341

LOLLLLLLLi've bought only two games since summer, skate and halo 3. halo is incredibly overhyped, i laughed aloud during the last level. the game's true merits lie in it's multiplayer, which, is great.
but, i play skate A LOT, and i don't see that dying anytime soon. also, the learning curve is so great on skate, i feel like I need to play it to keep up with the best for we all know, there will be sequils.
+ for skate
Skate is a very fun game. It hasa lotto offer and you could spend hours or mins and still have fun w/ it.I often find myself trying and retrying jumps off spotstrying to make the bestvid or highest scores, not even paying attention to the main missions. It does suffer from some glitchs, tech issues and freshman woes, but over all the game is well done. The game is missing a park editoror tricks selection that Tony Hawk has but it is a much more satisfying experience.Online is pretty good their are a good amount of options available and is a blast w/ a few friends. Over all i would say its prob an 8.0 - 8.5.

Hopefully you noticed what i corrected. Just to let you know Gamespot has a spellchecker.
I myself couldn't decide between Halo 3 and Skate so I bought both.
Basically I'd get Skate but that's just me, I enjoy Skate more than Halo 3, for some reason I don't know why. I play Skate more and Halo 3 is same old, But its Halo, so.
Heck Its confusing...
If you want to play Halo 3 for Multiplayer, Graphics and the Story, get it, but basically thats all thats new.
And for Skate, its new, but Frustrating, If you don't mind shouting at the TV when you can't win a competition, Get Skate, because its much more rewarding when you finally do it.
i have a few questions now, in skate can you do the huge xgames ramp any time you want? or is it only a few times during the x games.. and i wish you could gte off your board.. that would be awsome, another questions. are there lots of skate parks? or just the city?. thanks00173
First you have to Unlock the X-Games, Then Yes I think you can do it anytime you want, Although I haven't unlocked it yet, I think its obvious as you can Skate what you like in Skate.
Yeh getting off your board would be pretty cool, Hopefully it'll be in Skate 2 (if they make it, which they probably will).
Yer, There's alot of Skateparks, the whole city is packed full of Skatespots too, Such as bowls, Pipes, rails, Basically if you think about it, the whole city is a skatepark.
But there's a nice Skatepark called "The Plan B Warehouse" which has a halfpipe and a couple of other things.
The city is about 5 times the Size of Tony hawks project 8, Maybe bigger.
