My Cousin was asking me if it would hurt or bother his 360 if he blew compressed are into it. to remove dust that has settled inside it. and is there a way to keep it from geting realy bad..

he lives in a apartment witch is really dusty. he has to clean his tv and pc off every few days. he asked me about it so i thought i would post it here to see what other ppl said. i told him that it wont hurt it if he does it lightly. but i wasnt for shure.  i was wondering about like a air compresser that isnt verry powerful. are they okay to use to clean the 360 vents and whats the best way to do it?

I have never cleaned my console and never had a problem.  I would be very careful about doing something like that.

If you use compressed air, aren't you still blowing the settled dust into the holes and/or blowing around whatever dust is inside.  I can understand using that method for a PC but you can open the shell for that.

dont blow compressed air through the area of the fan as it will damage the fans and may cause your system to overheat. i suppose if u stuck somthing in to stop the fans from turning the u can blow it through with air.

my cousin blwe his out from the sides. he just put the nossle up to the vents and released it. then he went to the other side and did the same thing. and a lot of dust came rushing out.  when i clean my surround sound system i put a toothpick at the edge of a fan so that they wont spin. then i blow air through them.
