It sucked because it gets repetitive, the story was weak I mean really, a giant baby? Worst of all, it was supposed to be a survival horror and it failed at that. I forgot 10 minutes in that it was supposed to be survival horror. It's a completely dissapointing game.dukebd699I 100% Agree
I loved the game. It definitely had some negatives to it, but I thought the action (although somewhat annoying at times) and story made up for that. Although, like many other people, I was disapointed with the ending. I thought the Firstborn would be the same guy that was in the trailer for the game. To find out that it was actually a baby that could steal your powers, I was disapointed.
I wouldn't give the game to a garbage bin at all. Then again... I could've just been a sucker for the story and didn't care for the rest of it :P I couldn't stop playing the game cause I wanted to learn more
I found the game to be a lot of fun. I've only played the PC version. I agree the story was interesting and that's really what kept me playing because I wanted to see what was going to happen next. I like the combat as well. It was straight forward which is what I liked. Granted it could get repetitive with going to one location, shooting while trying to stay alive and then moving on. However those moments could get pretty intense and made you switch between your team mates in order to take advanatge of their skills.
The game is no where near as bad as some make it out to be. I guess their standards are insanely high but I found it enjoyable game to play and it looked great as well. Just a bit to gorey at times. I could only play so much of it at a time but that made it last longer.
I think though that some might be basing their opinion on the demo. I recall hearing that the demo was bad but I didn't see anything like that in the final game (didn't play the demo).
I think good is a bit generous, it's decent at best. The AI is idiotic, you kill the same half dozen enemies ad nauseum, the game isn't scary at all (unless buckets of blood randomly splattered everywhere is scary to you), the bosses are all pushovers, the story is paper thin, and the ending is a prime candidate for worst ending ever. it was mildly entertaining at first but it just gets worse the more you play.
I feel sorry for anyone who paid money for it.
I didn't hate it as much as i thought i would. I read lots of negative reviews, but it still looked interesting to me, so ignoring reviews i rented it out, just to see what it was like, and while i enjoyed some parts (controlling sniper bullets to go through several zombie's heads) i didn't like the majority of the game. There were so many bad decisions made in the game, in particular the quick time-events and some special attacks. There is a point in the game where you have to use a certain characters special ability to get through a pit of lave, and that is the only time you have to use that ability. What the hell? And also, sometimes i got stuck when i had to do something that was never explained. For example, in the third level, when you kill the giant golem things by shooting the symbols around their heads, when you get to the last one, you can't kill it that way, instead you have to switch to the ninja character and do a quick-time event to kill it. Things like that ruined the game.
Also, the story and characters were pretty crappy. The story was initially interesting, but it just got more ridiculous until I got past the point of caring. The characters were just a bunch of whiny tough guys and butch girls.
Besides all this, i found myself enjoying it. I don't think i'd buy it (unless it was really, ridiculously cheap), but i had fun with it when i played, despite it's flaws. In all, i didn't think it was bad as it was made out to be. I've certainly played worse games.
