cod 1 was by far the best
the stalingrad/ d-day and the battle of kursk(largest tank battle in history) missions were all amazing
the others just seemed to recycle the same old thing only in different places
cod 4 was good cuz it went in a new direction
COD 2 - alright campaign and terrible online
COD 3 - alright campaign and really fun online multiplayer
COD 4 - Amazing campaign and Fun online play but gets boring after awhile
Funniest Online Play - Call of Duty 3
Funniest Campaign - Call of Duty 4
Call of Duty 3 and 4 are almost equally great
so i pick Call of Duty 4 just because of the incredible graphics and the greatness of the single player and multiplayer
COD 2 for the Xbox 360 was the first Next generation game i ever played.. and from the moment i first played it on a kiosk machine at a Futureshop outside my house.. i knew, that would be it, my first game of Next Gen
i was not dissapointed at all. COD 3 and 4 were both excellent games also.. and if you still like WW2 then COD 3 is a must buy.. but if you crave something more Modern COD4 is THE BEST FPS of last year. they're both win win no matter what you pick to be honest.
All COD4 is good for is teamkilling. No one hardly goes online on COD 2 but COD 3 loads of people go on it,teamkillings fun and its also fun to play proper.

What was your beef with COD2 online. I played that forever. I loved it!
to the above poster . . . he said NEAR future, as in, at most, 2 years from now, realistically 6 months considering the fact that it was a made up story. although yes I know, all ghillied up takes place in the past (70's as I recall, right?).
to the tc, I borrowed CoD2 from a friend, so I was focused on beating it's SP and never got to experience MP, however it was the forst "next gen" game I played in a Kiosk at Wal Mart the night Battlefront II and Revenge of the Sith came out. It was absolutely amazing. Call of Duty 3 was pretty fun, the campaign wasn't as good (only CoD game i've taken a break from, and i've played all the numeric ones) and the only one I've ever traded. Multiplayer was like CoD 2, but with vehicles which kicked a**. Call of Duty 4, is amazing. I haven't even beaten the campaign (started on veteran, will finish on veteran) because the multiplayer is so damn addictive. Create-a-Class lets you play just how you want. Unless you are really attached to WWII, I'd get Cod4 next if you already have CoD2. Cod3, it's worth playing nontheless.
Does anyone else like COD 2:Big Red One?COD 2 was meant to be a sequel to it ,but its nothing like Big Red One.COD 2 and 4 are the biggest peices of rubbish i've ever played and COD 2:BRO and COD 3 are just amazing,Treyarch know their stuff.
