Call of Duty 2 is worth it just for the campaign. Definitely one of the better shooter campaigns I've played. I haven't tried playing it online in about a year though, at which point it still had a considerable following with regular matches. Not sure about now though.
CoD2 is pretty dead on the 360, and about the same for CoD3. However, I'd still say to get them both, since IMO CoD2 was the best in the series, and while a lot of people will complain about it, I thought CoD3 was great as well, just a poor autosave feature and you can't skip cutscenes. Ever.
CoD2 is the first game I played on XBL. Last year. Gave me the best of memories playing it! And its pretty easy to get the achievments on it if you care for your gamerscore. Never really tried CoD3, only the demo.Didnt like it. But I recommend CoD2 for its story play. Probably not as much people play it now, but I bet you'll still find some people that play it! :D
I loved COD3.The SIngleplayer was awesome and so was the multiplayer to me.I think the PC version of COD2 still has a community but the 360 version is probably dead by now.COD3 has a community but not anything like COD4 or any other recent shooters.

Well the Veteran difficulty was pretty easy up until the mission Hill 42 I believe its called. I had trouble with that one and on.

Yeah, same here. CoD 2 was the first game I played on Live.
Here's to the good ol' days when CoD2 was the MP king on the block. Back when there was only a handful of really good online games for the 360. Now there's so many I can hardly keep up :(. CoD2 gave me some goooood memories, and I made a lot of my first friends on XBL there. Get CoD2, the game is well worth it, just for the excellent Campaign. There's bound to still be some people playing online as well. CoD3 didn't impress me at all. I honestly wouldn't shed a tear if the game just disappeared from existence. I guess it just wasn't my taste, because some people seem to really like it. Everyone is different. I would say your best bet would be to go on YouTube, watch some of the gameplay from both, and read some reviews. My advice: If it's cheap enough, buy both, but if you have to choose one, get CoD2.
COD 2 by far. Cod3 isnt a bad game. but it had alot of issues like horrible checkpoint saves, and u would have to watch 10 minutes of crap talk by some soldiers you dont care about, and want to shoot some people. Cod2 was the first shooter i played on my 360 and it is a great game. with the multiplayer, it will be pretty much dead for both games, so if u want a WWII multiplayer get CoD: WAW.
so for single player COD2
multiplater skip both, and pick up either cod: WAW, or COD4
