i never understood why people say CoD 4 is realistic i mean yea u die in like 3 or 4 shots but look at it this way. it takes more then 1 shot to kill someone if u shoot them in the head except if u have a sniper or a shotgun, thats not really realistic and also the martydom perk why does the grenade blow up in 3 seconds but when u cook a greanade it blows up in 5 seconds, that makes no senseGhostRiderMike
Why do people respawn thats not realistic either!
Jesus, you'd think it was some kind of game or something...

u guys are freakin ignorant i swear, just go back to playing CoD..i never said the game is not fun it is, i just said that some stuff are not realstic...in R6V it takes one shot to the head thats more realsticGhostRiderMike
Your post sounded like you were bashing the game. You should have said "CoD 4 is a great game, just somethings in it just don't seem realistic." With that you can have a discussion on the realistic (or not realistic) aspect of the game without all the so-called ignorant people.
yea who cares a game can be too realistic ya know
no one wants to live another life virtually where u have the same restraints and limitations as ur actual life

Hahaha funniest thing I've read in a while. Pretty much says it all.
Concerning the realism of CoD4, the developers never intended this game to be ultra-realistic like other shooters out there. The realism in CoD4 lies in its graphics and probably refers more to its "photorealism" rather than its gameplay.

i loled hard
why oh why...when i shoot someone do they laydown on the ground and fire back at me for 5 seconds before they flatline.....where is the realism with these games.
i hate how cod4 fanboys say it is so realistic compared to halo when they talk about how it sucks yet on this forum some of those same users argue that it isn't realistic cause that isn't fun. i like both games and i think realism should never be an arguement against a game. cod4 looks realistic on outside but once you see a match it all falls apart. it looks nothing like real warfare, and when a grenade blows up you don''t fall to the gruond, you usually at least get shrapnel cuts on your body, but cod4 also lacks something important(any realistic gore). its a pretty face but its all makeup covering its blemishes. not realistic but if you wanted realism you wouldn't be playing this you would be playing a game like men of valour.peeweeshift
well ok, but what you're missing is that there is a big difference between realistic graphics and realistic gameplay. a game can always benefit from more realistc graphics because it just increases the immersiveness of the overall game experience (except if it's going for artistic flair, obviously). but as for gameplay, there is a potential for realism to damage the gameplay. youtube some modern footage of the "intense battles" they're having in iraq right now and you'll see what I mean. there's a fine line between making the game realistic and still having the gameplay functionable and fun.
and as for your last point about gore, that doesn't really apply in the context of your argument because Halo 3 does not incorporate any decent amount of gore either.
in the end, what i'm trying to say is that cod4 benefits both from realism in certain areas AND lack of realism in others. i think cod4 achieved a fine balance between realism and entertainment.
and btw men of valour isn't any more realistic, both graphiswise and gameplaywise than cod4 is. in fact it's considerably less.

He he...that was funny, anyway though the Call of Duty series has never been "realistic", I really don't see what the point of this topic is. (other to whin for no apparent reason)
I'm not playing reality, I payed 40 dollars(lol, got it on sale) to get away from reality.TigerFangRed

Doesnt it take one shot in the head for any shooter game? Headshot is instant death. So what's your point?

i'd like to see u make and game....
its one of the best games i've played on so far
from what i understand they attempted to make them as lifelike as possible without compromising the fun. pretty sure i heard or read that in an interview with one of their top producers.I dont think infinity ward ever intended to make the call of duty games realistic.....

If you want your war experiences real, there is one going on Irak, so you might find realism there:roll:.
Its just a game, k?

i think what he meant by gore was just blood actually. and halo3 does have pretty good blood splatters, but how the blood gets outside those suits of armor beats me. but yeah i dont see why ppl would even compare halo and CoD in realism. i mean one is sci-fi where there are aliens and laser beams and the other is with modern tech and normal human beings.

cod4 is not realistic, its wat u call realism. two different things.
however, its the most realistic game out there. (see how those words are used)
ofcourse its not too real, u cant call in air strikes every freakin 2 minutes. its expensive.
Actually my cousin just recently came back from Iraq. During a party at my house he started watching me play COD 4. I asked him if it was realistic at all. (was playing on crash). He said that the things he saw were pretty realistic. The one remark against the game he had was that the houses weren't filled with enough garbage.
So i disagree with you. Its a pretty realistic game.
really, the only thing that bugs me in this game, is that the controller really only vibrates hardcore when the enemy has fired the final bullet to kill you; realistically, your controller would be vibrating with every bullet put into your character

go play hardcore mode then.

that would get really annoying, and plus why would it vibrate when u get shot? it should vibrate when u shoot. but then again..that would get annoying too.
