COD 4 Prestige mode *waste of time*

im on my second prestige run through, and this will deffinately be my last. im tired of giving up al of my challenges and guns and scopes and camos for what?

1. a cool little medal?

2. intimidation?

everyone i see has gone through it like 5 times, its nuts im done with prestige!

I just started my 10th Prestige...it's just for replay value.I would get bored if I didn't do prestige.AtomicBaconBits

agreed. Im on my 5th btw

Their coming out with new guns and when you get to your 5th you can use a red dot and a silincer but all that stuff comes out in march But im on my 7th and I have a life :PNubPwner1

why would you want your leaderboard rank to be deleted?

Don't care about rank, just care about k/d ratio (mine sucks).

try to get more kills and less deaths in each match;) thats what I did for a Looong time:) I climbed to a 1.50 k/d ratio from 0.40:P took me about 300 matches to catch up:P

I got the game a week ago and it took me a very long time to adapt to the multiplayer. K/D was .51 but now I've got it to .89.... trying to get it to atleast 1.1

Im level 38 on 1st prestige, and i really am gutted, it honestly was a WASTEOFTIME!!

but i suppose when i get bored of it ill go through it again =D

Lvl 29, working towards my 2nd Prestige, i am going all the way upto 10.

Play HQ, ignore the objectives and go for the kills.

It does not matter to me because all i use is the M16,Mp5,stopping power and steady aim and you get all those at the beginning and it only takes me 25 kills to get red dot so i just do it for the hell of.

Honestly I don't mind prestiging; I like having to start over and do it again. I could see why some people wouldn't want to do it though because if someone puts a lot of hard work into the challenges and whatnot and you lose all that hard work then you get kind of pissed off and whatnot. I do like the fact though that you can use more than one attatchment once you reach a certain level of prestige.

Also I do care about the little symbols because it's more of a personal thing, like 'hell yea, I just got the chance to go prestige for a 5th time!' and it makes me feel like I'm a little bit better at Call of Duty 4 than I really am haha. Once again though I could see why certain people wouldn't want to do it.

One more thing is that there is supposed to be a new thing coming out where once you get to the 10th prestige then you can further modify your guns and I heard a little thing that different versions of the guns available are going to come to surface. Once more that I heard (but I doubt this) is that once you hit the 11th prestige (once it supposedly comes out, if at all) all of your guns do 10% more damage so yea. That was just a rumor though, we'll see if that actually sees the light of day.

Do I really loose my camos if i go through it? I am at lvl 55 never went through the prestige mode and I have alot of tiger camos (red and blue) for weaps and it is all i care for.....

I'm a level 40 in the second prestige. I have had the game since Dec 07 though so I guess it is not that high. I definetly won't go any higher though.

i used to prestige but i dont think i will anymore bc i wanna keep my guns.

I've not prestiged once in either CoD4 or World at War in all the 200 or so combined hours I've put into them. I dont get the point. It doesn't really say much about your skill level or anything, just how much time you've put into it. I'm not threatened more by people who've prestiged more than others or anything, either, so 'intimidation' has nothing to do with it for me.

I'd rather just get up to the max level and stay there with all the options available to me.

What I think they should do is either:

a) Make it much harder to get to the max level. Maybe reduce the points you get for challenges by 75% or something. This would make it so leveling up didn't happen so quick and the whole 'reward' feeling stays longer.

or

b) Give a real incentive to prestige. WaW went a step in this direction by adding unlockable custom slots, but that still isn't very much. How about having new outfits for our character? Maybe have special perks that get unlocked when you prestige? I dunno, I'm sure that people could come up with some good ideas.
