Yep. The servers have been dorked up since at least yesterday.
Genius...one of the few competitive advantages the 360 has over the PS3 (its coupling with XBL), and we can't maintain server intetgrity over a weekend when almost everyone in the US is on break. The problems stem across just about every game I've tried to play online today and now I can not even get onto the Marketplace to download content for Forza2.
Sorry about the rant; just frustrated wanting to play on XBL after 6 months of near continuous travel that will recommence on Thursday...it would have been a great few days to get some time back with friends and games...oh, well...

Yea this **** is sooo gay
like I wanna play over the break I have...because I won't have time after to do so.. n then the error message pops up
"I don't have an Active network" even though I can check everythin on the leaderboard...help someone
I thought it was my cd, was going to return it but I guess it just not happening to me thanx
Yep, it is definitely all of LIve. Now, when I sign in, it shows pop-ups that certain friends are on line, but my main menu slice continues to say "Connect to XBox Live", and there is no connecting to the MarketPlace. I am going to check periodically in-between watching episodes of Lost, Scrubs, and Friends...I'm also going to head over the XBL forums and see if there is a large volume of cries of foul play. I'll post here if anything turns up.

XBox Live Issues...Most current thread
OK, this is the latest thread I can find on the forums about the ongoing issues on XBL; my post is at or near the bottom under GT "Zeuxidamas". Looks like there have been issues since Xmas Day, although some have complained about problems for the last week.
- Vr/Gull>.
I'm having a similar but slightly different issue. I log on fine, no issues. I go to the multiplayer tab, no issues. Click on Xbox Live, not a problem. Hit find server > team deathmatch, and the screen blacks out for a second or less, and then it says something to the effect of, Cannot connect to match, or something similar to that.pyrobrand
Copy that Pyro, I think all of the problems are related, although the specific symptoms displayed will vary. I have seen different issues each time I have attempted to log on, from something specific within a game mode, or the Marketplace, or problems just signing in to XBox Live. I hope and believe that once service is restored in its entirety, most of the various issues that various XBL'ers are seeing will concurrently be repaired (although probably not all).

I just made my last attempt for today/tonight....9:20PM EST...I've been down since 1:30pm or so when I was trying to pull across DLC for Forza 2 before jumping back online. Although I can sign in now, I tried dropping in CoD4 and it wigs out when trying to download my CoD4 profile and stats. Major Nelson is posting on his twitter page about the ongoing issue...my only point of disagreement is his feeling that they are making progress at the times he posted those statements...things have gone downhill for me since 1:30pm (anectdotal, granted), and only recently starting improving after 8:30pm.
While it's great that he is posting on his twitter portal, it would be better if the updates (with real status) were being posted on xboxlive.com. I have always had the greatest respect for the Major and his team, but this has been handled poorly at an inopportune time. Hopefully things will be better in the morning when I get back from my morning run.

Hopefully it gets back by tomorrow, this is my last week before school starts and then I don't have much time to play games because my exams are going to start soon as well.
I just got high-speed internet too because I lagged on Halo and some other games, but I guess there was no point because XBL is corruppted right now.
so far i am 0 for 30 in completed games of COD free-for-all matches
i have all of the xbox live router ports open, and a very strong internet connection. I have no problem finding matches, but within 30 seconds (usually less) i get thrown from the game with the "server connection timed out" message.
This is extremely frustrating, since my friends have not been having any of these problems
please help :)
6AM EST...just back from a quick workout and XBL seems to be back in order (of course the whole eastern seaboard isn't yet pinging the heck out of it). I downloaded a bunch of content off the marketplace, too (the remainder of my Forza DLC, and a bunch of free themes, gamer picture paks, and game trailers). It will be interesting to see how it goes today once everyone else (in the western hemi anyway) starts logging on.

Actually it is easier for people in the Western states to connect to live because we are closer to their servers. Their mainframe is still down, and like most of you, it was a pain in the ass last night trying to connect to CoD. I had problems for about 20 minutes of getting the "active network connection" like everyone else, but then I got in and was able to play free for all and headquarters with no problem. Only thing that sucks, is that I only play hardcore team deathmatch.
So here in Cali, I got on about 6PM, had to keep at it because I would sign in and and kicked off right after I would sign in for like a half hour. This was just in the dashboard, and then after the hour or so of playing fee for all games with only 4 people in them, I was able to get on no problem for the rest of the night
Live is having problems. I'm sure that has something to do with it.MyndFlyteYa, awesome aint it, paying $50 a month for a service that is no better than steam or xfire, which are both free, I just dont get it, If they are gonna make us pay $50 a year, atleast avoid these damn issues, I mean I dont think steam has had this many problems ever, and its free.
