There have been some threads on whether COD5 is worth it or not. Gamepro magazine ran a feature on it for this month. There was a lot of good info. All the COD4 perks are in the game plus they added a whole lot more that look extremely fun. They also hint at the type of gameplay to expect. Im pretty pumped for it. Folks have asked, so here are the perks and kill streaks listed...enjoy!!
PERKS:
- Bayonet - a much longer reach than the hand-held knife.
- M2 Flamethrower - far-reaching stream that torches enemies and vegetation.
- Pyromaniac - Like COD4 Sonic Boom, boosts damage for your fire attacks like Molotov Cocktails and Flamethrower
- Satchel Charge - replacement for C4. Can also damage tanks if you get one under the treads.
- Bouncing Betty - replacement for claymore. Shoots in the air and shreds enemies with shrapnel.
- Bazooka - as the name suggests, a bazooka. Destroy tanks and enemy positions.
- Flak Jacket - allows you to survive close range grenade attacks like from Martyrdom
- Shades - nullify blinding effects of flares which are COD5 version of flashbangs
- Gas Mask - resists the effects of the Tabun nerve gas grenade (COD5 grenade type)
- Second Chance - improved version of COD4 Last Stand. Works the same as Last Stand with one addition. If you are hit and drop to the ground with your pistol out, another teammate equipped with Second Chance can revive you.
- Fire Proof - protection from fire weapons like Molotov Cocktails and Flamethrowers
- Dexterity - improved version of COD4 Slight of Hand. Grants faster reloads as well as faster prep time on Molotov Cocktails and Bouncing Betties.
- Greased Bearings - a vehicle perk allowing you to rotate your tank main cannon faster and switch targets faster.
- Ordinance Training - vehicle perk that boost the firing rate of the tank main cannon.
- Water Cooler - a vehicle perk that allows you to fire the tank's secondary weapon (machine gun) for longer periods before overheating.
- Lead Foot - vehicle perk that boosts the top speed of the tank which appears to be pretty slow.
KILL STREAKS:
- 3 Kill streak - deploy a recon plane to temporarily show enemies on radar.
- 5 kill streak - call in an artillery strike
- 7 kill streak - release several attack dogs that will chase down and kill enemy team members. Dogs seek out hiding enemies, so you can follow them to surprise your enemies.
MODS AND SUCH:
I think these are going to be attachable items/mods to your weapons used like the current weapon mods (scopes, front grips, etc.) Unknown if these will take up a perk spot like the front grip did in COD4.
- Sawed off Barrel & Stock - mod for the shotgun which gives it much shorter range and a wider spread for room clearing.
- Sights and Scopes - aperture, telescopic, and sniper scopes for your rifles and SMGs.
- Bipod - same as always, stability when proned.
- Magazine Upgrades - add a dual magazine or drum magazine for more shots.
- Silencers and Flash Hiders - silencer to suppress noise, flash hider reduces visible flash muzzle.
- CO-OP mode - entire single player experience for up to 4 players online or 2 players offline on split screen. Challenge ramps up as more players join the game.
- New Game types - in addition to the COD4 gametypes, add Capture the Flag and War mode. War mode should be similar to the War mode in COD3.
- Enhanced Party system - better party management allows players to jump from game to game together.
"Overall, the play of Word at War's multiplayer feels like COD4 with more exotic weapons and deeper gameplay options. The look is right and the feel is pure Call of Duty. In other words, COD4 vets wont be disappointed in the slightest...World at War is shaping up to be the most intense ride of the year...if this is the final foray into WW2 for the Call of Duty Series, they've been saving the best for last." - Gamepro Magazine
