COD 5 vs Gears of War 2

so im wondering if i should buy COD 5 or GoW2 im speaking purely on Multiplayer gameplay so to make a good purchase i ned to ask you people which onedo you prefer as a multiplayer game? i tried out COD 5 beta and was pretty satisfied with it(even if it was ww2 because i never have tried a ww2 game) so my questions are which one is better?

how many guns does GW have? what are the maps(give link in you can)? what is the overall gameplay like? (since i have already played COD5 i know what to expect) thanks alot

Gears Of War 2, the complete package with superb Single Player, Co-Op, & Multiplayer. 

They have different on-line experiences.....

GOW2 is like Halo in the sence that you start the matches with a standard weapon then the first 10-15 seconds of each match is sprinting to get a better gun (which I hate immensly.) If you don't get there first or don't know the map you end up dead as your opponent has a far superior weapon (which causes me to lose interest fast.)

COD5 you can choose your starting weapon and get comfy with it...and they are all balanced such that people are able to find what fits for them and still be competitive no matter what they like to use (sniper, shotgun, rifle, etc.)

Both are fun but I play COD5 more - mostly because they are more friends on playing it at any given time.

My thoughts are

Gears 2 - Better single player
Cod WaW - Better multiplayer

Gears is a more polished and complete game but COD's online is even better than 4's.  They are both great games though.  You cant go wrong.

Why not just buy both what are you too cheap to afford it? Mommy and Daddy broke?:lol:gcfreak898

ROFL ok 12 year old at least this kid works for his Xbox what ever games or consoles i buy comes from my own money that i worked for. i dont need momy and daddy for games...sorry

and getting back on the issue i didnt like halo either but il guesse il go buy COD 5 since it looks more flexible and better then COD 4

Gears of war2 is great, again the only thing that pisses me off is finding matches, other than that it is great online fun, but i disagree with you that COD 5 is better than COD4, COD4> COD5

i only have gears 2 but plan on getting cod waw after i played it at a friend's house. the single player campaign in gears 2 is amazing i havent seen anything like it in a shooter. if you have four friends with gears 2 so you dont have to spend time searching for players the multiplayer is very fun. the weapons are unique and mechanics like the meatshield and game modes like submission and wingman make it so you can play gears 2 in any way you like. however although i believe that gears 2 is an amazing game i am certain that neither will disappoint anyone. the unlockable weapons and perks in waw are a very cool thing to work for, and the gameplay is very solid as well. if you are looking for a game with great multiplayer and an even better campaign definitely go with gears 2 but if you only care about multiplayer you will probably enjoy call of duty world at war more with the unlockable weapons and perks
