I know this is gonna sound awfully trollish. But I can't really see whats so great about MW2... It must just be me or something, but it if its like mw1, I just don't like it that much personally... too running around aimlessly shooting stuff, which I could see could be VERY fun to some, but to me it just is too hectic and random. This is my opinion.
Ok, in all honesty I think MW2 will be amazing, but greatest game of the decade? No. The basis of this game is hype, if the game was called for example "War on the Land" or somehting like that, and it had no connection to cod series, it wouldn't gain this attention. Yes cod has a reputation supporting MW2, but again it's being a bit blown out of proportion, one of the best shooters of this decade would be something either last gen, or even back to the old ps1 days, but that doesn't mean I disagree with MW 2 being amazing =]
Sales wise? Maybe. Quality wise? Hell no. I think it'll be the worst in the the series. Damn you Infinity Ward for screwing up one of my most anticipated titles!
Since there will never be a definitive "Game of the Decade" except for our own opinions, I can only speak for myself.
I don't think MW2 will be the Game of the Decade. To be given that title it would need to not only impress me beyond belief, but also do something that hasn't been done before, in both plot and gameplay. MW2 may have the plot side down, but its gameplay is more or less the same old shooter formula. Not to say I won't enjoy the game, but picking Modern Warfare 2 as the ONE game, out of everything I've played over the last 10 years, that stands above the rest, isn't going to happen.
Lmao, i really hope your joking. There are so many better games than MW2, actually there are games that have came out recently that are better, uncharted 2, dragon age origons. Mass effect 2 will be better.
C: It has only been out for a few days and who knows how long it will be until you are bored of it. I think you should at least give it a few months before you can call it the greatest game of the decade. Personally, I wouldn't consider a game focused around Multiplayer as game of the decade but that's just because I love RPG's or at least games with great stories.
