CoD takes no skill...

here is how I know. I am a very average FPS player with my K/D hovering around 1-1.20. I hadn't played Black ops for almost 3 weeks and jumped on the other night for the heck of it. I played 4 matches of Hardcore TDM. First match...13-7...Second match ...14-8...Third match...12-9 and the last match...15-10. While these are not stellar number by any means, it is proof that anyone with an ounce of ability can be successful at CoD. So anyone out there that thinks they are some FPS god because of CoD...Get over yourselves!!!!

It takes skill apparently because those numbers aren't impressive. I thought you would be saying 34-7, 30-5, and etc but 13-7 is just bad. craigalan23

If COD takes no skill then how are people better than you? Most good people consider those games you listed as horrible games.

COD does actually take skill. To say it doesn't is just wrong. Also your scores weren't even that good.

If you chuckleheads read my post I admitted to being very mediocre at FPS's. Ive never once claimed I was that good. As far as my numbers go if you guys think those are bad, then you must also think that 75% of all participants in any given match on Black Ops suck as well. Because I hardly ever see a match where besides maybe only 1-3 guys are better than 15 kills. In fact I see 3-6 guys each and every match that go 7-13. Id love to play against any of you who talk a big game. In fact Im betting half of you that responded suck at FPS and just talk BS on here!!

You pretty much said that your KD is around 1.2 and that you played some games from Call of Duty and had a KD similar to 1.2. Which means that you did just as well as you in other games but not better.

This is pretty old news. Any game that you die in .25 secs that has lag. Doesn't take skill, its about connection

The title is true, but the game does take strategy. You may not like noobtubing, no scoping and double shotguns but adapting to the game for what it is is part of the strategy. Its up to you to change your gameplay, or stop playing.

While it is true that Black ops takes less "skill" then past cod titles (aka CoD2), saying it takes no skill is hyperbolic.

In the more recent ones, the skill cap seems noticably lower than most other shooters I've played. There are also many ways to get cheap kills that are very diffiult to prevent, which has the effect of equalizing scores.

try using a tomahawk, crossbow and a sniper, if you get a good ratio then that is skill! yeeee boyyyy!

The skill in CoD comes from map knowledge, spawn knowledge and some accuracy with a gun. If you understand and can perform those three things well you're bound to do great at Call of Duty. There is luck involved i.e. stupid players, lucky spawns. And who knows those "great games" you posted you probably was sitting in a corner aiming down your sights, it was hardcore TDM . It does take skill but that skill comes from using your brain to outwit other players

i wont go as far as saying it doesnt take skill (that would cause too many fights), however there are too many ppl that use camping, overpowered unbalanced guns, kill streaks, and perks (granted I quit the series at mw2) that give ppl the impression that they are really good at the game and have skill.

If someone was getting 30+ kills in Black Ops, Im pretty sure at least 25% or more of those kills were from killstreaks! If you get 30+ kills in, lets say Halo Reach, then THAT'S skill...

Anyone can kill, it is a shooter after all. But just so you know that is not a good k/d ratio. And big deal you went positive, you think you're good? Go 40-2 almost every single game without wild killstreak kills. Then we'll talk. Oh, and you have to be moving around the map the whole time, not just sitting in a corner waiting for the unsuspecting.

first off u never got above 15 kills which is a poor game for people that are good at it if u aint gettin 30 or more kills in hardcore then u suck dont bad mouth the game caseyw62
