COD4 Headshot Tips for SMGs.

Okay, I want golden guns.

I'm starting with the SMGs, because I feel like those would be the hardest to complete (the Expert headshot challenge, specifically), and I want to get it out of the way first. Unfortunately, this is taking forever to me, as I only get about 2 headshots per 15 kills. So, mathematically, I don't expect to complete the Expert challenges until I've made over 1100 kills. Oh yeah, and that's per SMG, so it'll be 5,500 kills before I get my golden SMG.

Does anyone have any tips for increasing my headshot chances? Certain scopes, or perks that help out? Types of games to play? Anything?

I don't know if there's any trick to it... Except maybe just aiming a little higher. But if there are any, I'd like to hear them. Thanks!

throw on an acog you'll get some headshots with the p90porky_ownsu

wow!! just wow...ACOG on a smg. What next? grenade launchers? You just have to get use to aiming for peoples heads rather than going for the safe body shots. It doesnt matter what aiming sight you use.

I have the golden M60, Dragunov, and Mini Uzi (it sucks) but MP5/AK-74u/P90/Mini Uzi are pretty straight forward red dot will do fine with them (I did ACOG P90, and I recomend Juggernaut for the Mini Uzi because the other perks seem to have little effect) but for the Skorpion what I did was go stealth and mainly look for snipers to sneak up on. If you still have trouble go stealth for any of them and just try to find snipers walk up to em 90% of the time they never realize you come up behind them it's prolly your best bet.

I think the shotguns are the hardest head shot guns also, I'm working on the auto shotty and it's a B**** the pump isn't too bad though

for the smgs, aside from the uzi, the best way is to keep the croshair centered up on the head area and get real close and hold the trigger down. red dot helps at range, but the way above is easiest. go on a DM server and just bum rush people this way, you'll get 10-15 HS a match. but the uzi sucks so its rather hard. on the AR's do the same thing, except stead aim really helps, and on the G3 and M14, you'll have to snipe. the shotty HS are actully pretty easy, since if your close, you can aim for the head without worrying about missing.

going stealth and sneakingup on people also helps, but combine it with the rush technique or itll take forever.

I use silencers on all my SMGs and I'm trying to get the golden Uzi. Just aim higher or get more kills per match to raise your number of headshots.

Stay in crouch mode, watch corners, and try to sneak up on people. I find headshots a lot easier when I'm crouching. This helps because my enemies are often crouching as well and I don't have to be too accurate while aiming. I find red dots and ACOGs unhelpful because I tend to go for body shots when I have a sight on my gun.

If nothing else works, just use a silencer/UAV jammer combo to sneak kill all your opponents for plenty of headshots.

With SMG's I like to run around with a silencer, UAV, and steady aim. If you run and gun on close quarters maps or downpour it works really well.

Also I often don't "aim" (left trigger) when my enemy is close. I shoot from the hip and aim my cross hairs at their head. Often that split second it takes to aim, they've already lit you up.

They're not worth it. Don't waste your time trying to get them.

just keep playing and aim for the middle torso and when ever you sneak up on someone try to shoot them in the head rather then knifing them.thetrane

That's what I was gonna say. Whenever you sneak up behind an unlucky SOB sniping, or maybe looking outside a window, stand behind him and aim squarely at his head. Sometimes, one shot won't do it. Might take two or three.

No go for the feet. It works every time. I got my Gold RPG in a matter of hours. :)Tundrawarlord
