COD4= nothing special?

I had high hopes for COD4 but after playing the beta for a few days I have to say it is medicore. The game is pretty much COD2 with modern weapons...no destructible environments like cod2. I guess the the weapon customization is cool but didn't Vegas do that better? This is only my opinion. Does anyone else agree?

I thought it was pretty good. I thought the game looked exactly like CoD2, which isn't a bad thing.

I kinda stopped doing the beta because you reach the level cap too fast...if they raise the level cap again before Halo 3 then I'll play it some more.

I played it at a friends house, and I'm enjoying it greatly.

Well the thing is, They never add everything they've got into a BETA. That's how it can change a lot from the BETA to Final.

How can you assume that the beta they released is the latest build?

Hell for all we know this beta build could've been the one that came out 3 months ago with so bug specific fixes. ALso don't forget that there's a single player campaign, which btw has been COD's main attraction (well for IW's products that is).

the beta was fun at first you know then the fun started to die down a bit and once you reach level 16 its gets a little stale buts its just a beta and playing it cod is finally getting up there with the likes of halo and gears in terms of online so COD4 is gonna be good people may be too into halo thoughGen007

I must admit i was expecting better graphics than what i saw, dont get me wrong they were good but after hearing gamespot and IGN raving about them i was expecting more, the textures are very muddy and I'm sure its got to do with it being the beta....ComBaTsOuL

I loved the beta. I still play it here and now. If they raise the cap again I will definately go all out.Tree06

In my opinion, I find this to be nothing special either. Yes, it's a nice looking game but it's just your basic run and gun military shooter. It's been done a million times. But it's new and bound to attract some attention.

If you're hugely into these sorts of games, power to you! Enjoy! Nothing wrong with this game. But if you're looking for the next step in multiplayer experiences, keep on looking.

so if COD4 is Mediocre, whats the HALO3 multiplayer?, mediocre since nearly nothing has changed since halo2

COD2 had good multiplayer, so did COD3, so will COD4, its been good all the way through, why change it radically?

All multiplayer is kinda meh actually

I guess I'm old school but most MP games are just that - run around, shoot, die, reload, repeat

I personally think CoD4 is good MP wise, but I'm looking forward to the SP campaign more

The problem is no one really Teams up and plays multiplayer like it's supposed to be done - it's like being in a crappy garage band....everyone wants to do their own thing...half the team is exploiting glitches, the other half is running around aimlessly with no plan or execution

beta or not, the multiplayer gets pretty boring pretty fast. i played the beta for about 3 hours, and maxed out my level to 16. most perks suck, everyone uses the same ones, and most weapons are worthless. the only fun gametype is team objective, especially when theres no respawn. other than that, the multi is really mediocre in terms of options and what not.mtradr43

your saying that the perks suck right. you do know that you only get like 1/6 of all the perks in the game plus add all the maps and everything else, when the game is out then you can judge it like you are now. its just a beta and your acting like its the real thing.

Saw the video doesnt interest me much i prefer games like UT3 for multiplayer. However Masseffect looks killer im definately picking it up

I agree too! I'd love to see more teamwork and less run and gun. Sadly, these levels are built for quick and frantic action.However, isn't there a mode in the beta that promotes a more strategic style of gameplay? Some sort of elimination team match? Thought I saw that offered in there somewhere.

When all is said and done, although I was part of the Halo 3 multiplayer beta as well, I'm enjoying this one way more. Who'd have thought?

In COD 4 beta they purposely took things out.Beta is for testing CERTAIN parts of the game, its not the finished game. Have you actually never played a beta before? and I'm guessing you can't be a programmer because in 2 months time its non stop work all the time, much can/will be added and changed.

CoD4 medicore? whatever....this game will OWN Halo 3 and any other shooter this year
