So I'm thinking of picking up CoD4 and looking for some impressions on the SP. I know a lot of people enjoy the mltiplayer but since I'm don't about multiplayer I'm buying it solely for the SP experience and wanted to know what people thought about it because oddly I don't hear much talk about it.

If you don't plan on playing the game online, don't buy it. The single player is extremely fun, but also very short. It's worth a rent for SP.

I have not yet played it, plan to pick it up soon. I have heard that the SP is amazing but only about 6 hours long. I dont know if thats true or not, im sure like all COD games its has very high replayability on different difficulities cause things change depending on how you play the game.

The single player is over before you can blink, but its too good not to expirience once so rent it.

The single player wasn't bad, but not really that great either. There were some instances where it felt like I was in a shooting gallery, waiting for enemies to pop up to get a shot on them, and I often had a feeling of boredom while playing. It wasn't all like that though. There were some very exciting moments, as well. But I can't really recommend it just for single player.

Rent it if you're only going to play through the campaign.

I wouldn't buy it even for the multiplayer. Any time you have to start a game at level 1 and face someone that is lvl 44 or higher in a game there is something wrong. Game is graphically good, but that is about it. Storyline is a blink then your done. A rental at best. At least the game is better then Galo 3.

I haven't played CoD4's multiplayer and I thought it was a great game. It's a great single player campaign. If you are going to complain about it being too short, then PUT IT ON A HIGHER DIFFICULTY!! DUR.

Not worth it without XBL. Fantastic single player....that can be beaten in 4-6 hours. No thanks.

Hmmm! It took me a week to finish depending on my work hours. So I play some at night only though. I love the ending where you get to kill the guy.

I thought the SP was a lot of fun. But it was fairly easy and short. Def. worth a rent.

wow you need to grow a pair if you complain about the ranking system. They give you the best weapons right at the beginning and it doesn't take that long to rank up anyway. Anyway to answer this dudes question the single player is never dull its always intense. The sniping mission is one of the coolest moments in any single-player ever. by the way the people who way its short its only short if you play on an easy difficulty. play it on veteran and your looking at one long and engaging experience that no one should miss. But if your not going to play the MP then i would say don't buy it but defiantly rent it.

Played it on Veteran and it was STILL TOOO easy. ANY time you play against someone that can shoot through cement walls and you are just starting out is not even remotely fun or fair. Don't even start with the weapons being the best in the beginning. They get better with rank and if you can't get cover from somebody that can shoot through walls how are you supposed to kill them with your "better weapons" you got in the beginning of the multiplayer experience?

wow someone gets owned all the time and is not happy about it. As for MP The first few games I played as a level one I won. Thats going up against guys who were anywhere from a few ranks above me to 2 prestige levels above me. (I had the highest score in a team deathmatch game)There is no excuse that you cant play online with people that are higher ranked then you other then you suck. PERIOD.

As for SP. Its a very fast paced intense shooter and on higher difficulty's it takes much longer to complete. I dont think I would buy it just for SP but its more then worth a rent.

I would just rent it. It's not really a game you should buy just for the single player.

The call of duty franchise has always been about a short, but fulfilling campaign and awesome multiplayer. This game is no exception.

it took some time for the mp to sink and it's great I would have traded it after playing if I didn't like the mp. SP is good short though.

the game has an amazing sp but it is extremely too short. i mean i know you can go back and replay it on harder difficulties but i dont think that added hours of difficulty can justify buying the game. multiplayer is what makes this game last for so long.

I cant tell, i've only finished the second mission on the campaign. Im in prestige mode 1 in multiplayer though.

I feelt like the campaign is nothing special, not bad but not amazing, just average.

Mulitiplayer is a blast.

it would need to be longer, if it was the same short campaign then its not quite worth $60.

You should buy it although other's are saying not to. Those that say it's too short play on an easier difficulty.

I dont think that putting it at a higher difficulty is going to make the game longer it is just going to make it harder...lol
