yeah dude, its so fun, i started playing online a week ago, it took me 3 days to get to 55, once you learn how to play the game and how to exp points the easiest/fastest way, its easy to go up in rankslayer85
Huh? he wants to know what prestige mode actually is, which in this case, I dont know, I shall go to my trusted friend google lol.
I wouldn't know because i got to lvl 15 and it stopped searching for matchers, this is hard to say but I sold it on ebay!!!! i know i shouldn't have done this since i found out an hour later from posting it that all i needed was a corded connection!! I'm so pissed off about this.
I'll do it, just because it will keep the game going a little longer for me, but I wish they had kept some of the more powerful/fun unlocks for prestige mode.
What's the point of a Barrett .50 cal if you only get to use it for like 5 levels before you start again? Also, I'd really like to finish all the weapon challenges so I can sport the gold-plated AK, Uzi, shotgun, M60, and the Dragunov... but why bother even finishing challenges until you're on the last level of prestige mode, if they're all getting reset anyway?
Don't get me wrong, the game is genius, but I think Rainbow had the ranking system down a little better... giving you the really cool stuff at the end -- the real end.
Fun unlocks they could've thrown into prestige mode could have been pistols-only matches, custom armor, extremely-powerful-but-nearly-useless weapons (think motorized Gatling guns like the Minigun or Wolfenstein's Venom gun), or other much sought after stuff that could add a real incentive to push through the 500+ ranks, but not giving those hardcore players much of an advantage once they got there.

^^^ After reading that I am now a little less smart than I was before. Go play R6, this game is awesome.rougewarrior198
First: The above value in orange must've been low to begin with, so I don't mind further diminishing it.
Second: Yeah, hmmm, I don't see myself saying anywhere that R6 is superior to CoD; in fact, the first statement I make says, in effect, "yes, they hooked me, I'll do it" and my last statement says...
the game is genius.ACESandElGHTS
See, "genius" is a slightly less juvenile way of saying it's a great game. If I managed to inform this time: great. If not, Xbox Live is full of totally less-than-smart people, so you'll fit right in.
Keep up the one-liners -- they reek of intelligent thought. Really.
From wikipedia: "In Prestige mode, the player can trade in their rank and start over at level 1, in exchange for a special in-game insignia by their name. The player can trade in their rank and start over at level 1 up to ten times, with the prestige insignia changing each time, effectively giving the player 605 total ranks to achieve."III-Rob-III
Cool, thanks for finding out.

I love the game and i love the leveling system as well as prestige mode, but i agree with this statement 100%.

I was thinking about doing this but I'm only at level 24 i think. So I got a long way to go to get there.
Yes, personally I think I would really rag on people who got to 55 but didn't convert. I know I shouldn't make fun of people but it seems kind of silly not to go prestige.Fatality4u
I think for alot of these people, you spend all this time gaining all these perks and weapons, just to lose them as soon as you get them? I converted back to level 1 as soon as i hit 55, and i wish i had stayed at 55 alittle while. You get a gold plated Desert Eagle that i never got to use, and some late level weapons, like the M44, i only got to use a couple times because i switched over too fast. Next time i hit 55 again, ill wait alittle longer before i convert again.
I don't see the point in converting to prestige.. I've been lvl 55 since the 3rd day the game was out and never plan on converting. No desire to lose the weapons and upgrades I have earned, just so that I get a cute little insignia next to my name.. maybe if they actually made the rewards worth while I'd be interested.Odd_Eye
I agree. It seems pointless without there being some sort of reward. New modes, weapons, perks, something. Bragging rights are useless since there will always be someone higher than you. Not to mention it's silly to brag anyway.

He meant is it worth doing not what is it...reading is an amazing skill.

What are some of the easiest ways to rank up? I know challenges are a great way. Anything else? Search and Destroy is good if you get enough kills. You get 50 xp a kill.
totally worth it...its fun starting all over owning people with guns without red dots and ranking up quick which you dont do in the later ranks...best idea in a ranking system in a video game ever IMO...DaKidLiLJ
I didn't use red dots or ACOG scopes (or any scope for that matter) the first time through, so I don't think I'll be using them on Prestige. I will miss my M14 though. :(
So i'm about to hit lvl 55 and i was wondering if prestige mode is really worth it? What lvl can you go up to when you're prestige? What new perks do you unlock?insane_metalist
I believe that it's not really worth it. To me having to start all over again for a little symbol and no other perks is not worth it. And Seriously, what's the point about bragging that you keep doing the same thing over and over again because that's all prestige mode is, re-leveling up again and again through all 605 levels...nothing more.
Also, think about other multiplayer FPS's that we have all played/play that do not give you perks with their ranking system. I haven't stopped playing those games even though I've reached the highest rank, or did this, or did that. I think keep your level 55, keep your guns, skins, addons, and have fun screwing with the people that don't have them yet. I'd say if you got a new weapon, perk, or new map for every prestige level you gain, then sure, why not...But, until then, if then, I'm going to hold off...
Prestige is an original idea and I appreciate it even on my third time through the ranks.
First time through I concentrated on straight-up rifle kills. Next time around, racked up grenade and clamore kills. Third time, I've split my kills evenly betweenrifle, grenade launcher, grenades, clamores and melee. You just discover more every time you lose all your weapons.
Prestige rocks. Kudos to COD 4 for the most in-depth online play yet.

I prefer it. I mean staying at 55 can become boring IMO. Ranking up adds a goal and something to chase after.
I'm at level 10 prestige level 8 and sad cause I won't play as much when I'm 55 cause there's no more prestiges
Yes, personally I think I would really rag on people who got to 55 but didn't convert. I know I shouldn't make fun of people but it seems kind of silly not to go prestige.Fatality4uwhy do you have to go prestige its only a symbol, hell i stayed at 55 but im owning prestige's left and right, personally i dont think it really shows anything, it only gives you symbol and you start over. Now it would be fun if you lose a round then you lose some exp but you don't so eventually if you keep playing the game you will get all prestige's whether your good or not.

Oh and one more thing every talks about the challenges but there really not all that either i have almost all of them accept like 3 or 4 and thats with out even really trying to get them if you just play the game enough you will get all of them and i have no desire to keep resetting my rank to get an insignia or trying to do challenges again.
it makes me laugh when people say they "TRY" to get the challenges, like this one kid kept saying OMG OMG i need 3 more head-shots with the sniper and then im off to the shotgun or something, i have over 3000 head-shots out of about 17000+ kills with various guns and thats with out actually trying to get them i just play the damn game. I think thats why half the people i play against suck cause there to worried about symobols and challeges, im worried about dying less and getting more kills thats why i average about 25+ kills a game
So i'm about to hit lvl 55 and i was wondering if prestige mode is really worth it? What lvl can you go up to when you're prestige? What new perks do you unlock?insane_metalist
While it can be tedious to level to 55 ten times, I find it worth it. It extends the replay value of the game (which it already had a ton of to begin with), and keeps multiplayer fun and interesting.
