COD4 taking it too far?

Ive been playing cod4 for awhile now and Ivenoticed that the most popular guns are the m16 and m4 I try to switch it up and rarely use these guns anymore but its annoying when its all you see everyone has it with the blue camo or red camo not because they're a good shot but because they over use it I was wondering if anyone else has been running into this as well?

yeah whats the point

first off this should go in the cod4 forums. second off it doesnt matter if the gun is overused. its actually a fair gun since everyone can use itno matter what lvl. and it takes a good shot to have red camo. headshots dont come magically. hell i see alot of people using the p90 but im not going to complain.

Ever since I returned home from school (a few days ago) it seems I'm never killed by anything but the M16. =/ It's definitely a great weapoon, but it only takes a burst or two whether dead on or through a wall and it never seems to miss. Maybe I'm just frustrated, but I'm starting to think it's a bit overpowered.Warhearted

Then you havent ran into me yet. I absolutely OWN with the M249 and the M60....

Wish it was a way to use unlocked weapons in the single player story...

All the LMG's are fun to use, favourite is still RPD with grip though.

I use different weapons all the time, and my favourite so far is the AK 47, yes that's right. It owns pretty hard, you might think it sucks but after you've played the game for a while and are good at the MP, then you'll own with it.:DMindFreeze

I agree! I use the AK47 on a bunch of different maps. It is a good all purpose gun unless I am on one of the bigger maps. I never see anyone using it which makes me love it even more, but I own with it and don't mind sacrificing a little kick back for power and punch. I really never use the M16. It's a good gun, but on the smaller maps I find it pretty useless and besides, I prefer the G3 on the bigger maps anyway. Many people hate the G3 as well, but once you master it the G3 is DEADLY. I'll also occasionally use the M4. It was the first weapon I really got good with, but now that I have moved on to others I don't use it as much. On a handful of stages I like to use the p90 with silencer and UAV jammer. It's a great change of pace to be able to dash around and sneak up and pop people in the back. Also, occasionally I will use a sub machine gun in the downed helicopter map (name of it doesn't come immediately to mind for some reason). Don't know why, but a sub machine gun is the only weapon that I can really do well in that map with.

I actually like it when people use the same guns. Although CoD4 is a fairly balanced game, there are some guns/perks that are extremely over powered._pulser_

Yea I play the same as you, I love sneaking around with silenced SMGs, I just found out you can silence your AK too haha, I'm going to try that.

Crash. But I agree UAV jammer can be deadly im supprised not many people use it.

Hmm only gun i use is p90 :)

you dont have every camo unlocked people have the red and blue camo for some guns and thats about as far as they've come I see level 20's with the blue and red camo which i believe is about 75/100 headshots Im level 52 and only have digital camo for every rifle

Blue camo is 75 headshots and red camo is 150 headshots with whatever gun you want the camo for.

I know dude the g3 is sooo amazing. its got the best accuracy out of any gun in the game i just love it. i also use the g36c because its awesome too.

Who cares, It's actually a good thing that everyone gets to start out with some of the better guns in the game.AstraNoString

The M16 is not necessatily the best weapon. I use different weapons for every map. Also, the camouflage question is trivial. How do you know they're not great shots and who cares if they aren't?atst007

Yeah I have noticed that people do play using either the M16 or the M4, not saying that I don't, just not to the excess that they do, its pretty whack, though I do use sniper rifles alot, but thats because I favor long distance head shots. ;P

Yea me too I save my M16 setup for maps I suck at and the M16 is the only way to keep me in the game for that specific map but I still use as many guns as possible

I only use the M16 for the first 10 levels to get them out of the way quickly. After that, using the M16 using stopping power, i feel like i'm cheating. It's just too easy to get kills.

I just run into people overusing their CoD4 discs. It's like everytime I get on there are people playing. It's rather annoying.
