COD5 single player was pure trash

First off it's Call of Duty: World at War, NOT CoD5.

And most of us buy CoD for the multiplayer anyway. I didn't like CoD4's campaign either. MP's still a blast though.

I was really happy with the modern theme of CoD4; I thought that Infinity realized that there was no more money to be made with WW1 / WW2 games. It's been done a thousand times, nobody wants to play it again.

But I guess I was wrong; CoD4 was the best game in he series... I wonder if they will ever be able to achieve that again.

I downloaded the demo and I have to say the multiplayer was average (prefer COD 4). I know some of you probaly purchased the game already, so no hard feelings. I just feel like if a new version of a game comes out, it should blow the walls of its predecessor and sadly I feel this is not the case for COD:WAW

TC, you should know that people who have the game will be angry b/c your placing the $60 they spent on the game in the "Wasted Money" column, so do expect backlash.

CoD5 is the one being made by IW. But you don't care.

I guess I've never been too into war shooters single player. I couldn't make it through Battlefield Bad Companys SP either. I'm in it more for the multiplayer templates. But yea blame Treyarch, I wasn't too thrilled about WW2 either, but I guess it's something different.

I don't know why, it was as if they deliberately took a step backwards. I don't think anybody would have ever asked them to take the series back to WW2, it has been done countless times before. I think this is one of the most unoriginal games I've ever seen.

Yeah i agree, the game looks like crap, i dont care what reviews it got. Another stupied ww2 game. I love call of duty but enough is enough with this ww2 game crap. I wont be wasting 60 bucks for this one. I will just keep playing COD4. One more thing Who cares if u call it COD5. I call it that all the time. So GTA 4, the way you are thinking, should actually be GTA 9, and GTA 4 would actually be GTA 2. Also think of the sims games. All those games that they made they would be in the 20's but nobody calls it sims 20. So call it by its name COD World at War. 

cod 3s story was awful(pretty bad game and everyoe knows it)

cod4s story was awful and about as unoriginal as modern day can get. typical muslims with nukes. come onnnn(still awesome game)

cod5s story i was expecting the unoriginallity of ww2 along with the even more unoriginal stories of all cod games, and it is, just not nearly as bad as i thought it would be. pretty average campain. really liking multiplayer

People already knew that World at War was going to be a WW2 shooter.  Why would you buy the game if you know you don't like WW2 games or are sick of them?  :roll:

When will gamespot put up their review for this game? I'm depending on it; every other major reviewer seems to think its deserves an 9/10. Something tells me Gamespot won't be as generous.

I still can't believe Gamespot gave CoD4 a 9/10 and Halo got a 9.5/10.

i completely agree. its unoriginal. Like how COD4 wa snothing more than Amricas Army with better graphics and gameplay. Please everyone is all up in arms saying COD4 was amazing when its only that way to them because REAL modern shooters like Rainbow Six or Ghost Recon cant be played like an arcade game. just get over it, there are ALOT more modern shooters then there are ww2. Stop thinking COD is the only military shooter out there

thats why you can't just call it whatever, the next call of duty is should be called COD5 by Infinity Ward, because they let big red one and finest hour go with those crap names.

Of course it rivals COD4, it was made with the COD4 engine. They basically just took the game and gave it a facelift. 

modern combat shooters are just as overdone now its not like cod4 was doing anything new or revolutionary either. the only different thing cod4 did was made it insanely easy to level which sort of defeated kind of made it so ranking only meant more unlockables you really couldn't loose in cod4 multiplayer you always got something out of it.

but the campaign is your generic terrorist plot story with storytelling elements that have always been present in cod games cod4 is so overated its hilarious how people bag on treyarch when infinity ward doesn't stray far from the cod forumla either. at least ww2 was about something and theres history the cod4 story was ridiculous and a seriously over done one too.

and lets not forget infinity ward was building off what treyarch have done so part of cod4 wouldn't have even been possible without cod3. 

IMO i have been playing shooters for quite a while. COD 4 was amazing because of the campaign an the multiplayer aspects of it. The story was short but it was fun. COD WAW is a good game and the best part about it, it improves upon what 4 brought to the table in which it did in many ways. The perks are better, the multiplayer is alot better and at a realistic pace unlike COD 4 where evrything is fast. I like the fact that bolt action rifles are on shot one kill. So all in all it is a better game than COD 4, hell id say the multiplayer is better than Halo 3 simply because of the stupid jumping to get away from being killed. Now thats gay phillymp

I still don't get how people feel the need to bash one game's rival. They are obviously both awesome games, and the jumping in Halo works well to how that game is balaced. Halo features aliens and other planets etc. and COD goes for the more realistic approach where Halo-esque jumping wouldn't work.

I'm not even that a big fan of Halo, however I do play the multi-player quite a lot due to the fact that it has the "fun" factor that many games nowadays are lacking. It is an undeniably brilliant game, and so is COD4, but they are both completely different games in term of stile* so there is no use in comparing them. 

* I know this is not the correct spelling, the correct word was auto-censored.

Well how are you gonna say CODwaw is pure trash? Its a great game to me and thousands "maybe millions" of others. COD4 got old. The maps were boring at best. Played a lot for a while then left that game far behind. Matter of fact, I dont play anything online as of now...

The treyarch CoD's just dont feel as tight to me.  I purchased CoD 3, and was extremely dissapointed.  I was in the CoD: WaW beta, and I realy did not like it. 

 I dont know how to describe it, but it just felt sloppy, like the hit detection was off or somthing.  I'm just going to stick with Infinity Ward CoD's, they have not dissapointed me yet.

It funny and sad at the same time when people say; to sum it up..."it's trash" WHEN THEY DIDN'T EVEN PLAY IT.

COD WAW has a way better campiegn than COD 4. 

Besides, the TC is hyped for ALAN WAKE. That explains all. Nuff said.

I can agree with this. They mostly stole the cod from COD4, which is why I won't be getting it, hardly anything has changed, everything plays the same, with exact same perks, with different names. How lazy!

I will say its probably the best game treyarch put out, but thats not saying much, a group of modders could've made this game.

Agreed. The MP beta was great fun, probably more so then COD4, at least in my opinion. I'm going to wait to pick WaW up. Maybe after the holidays. There's a lot of great games coming soon, so I need to save and stay on track, not get distracted by games I realy don't have a strong desire to play.

 Its CoD5, people seriously stop saying its not. Its the fifth regular non-spinoff/port entry into the series so its CoD5. Just because Treyarch made it and gave it a subtitle doesn't mean it isnt CoD5.

It may be true that it is called Call of Duty: World at War, it is technically Call of Duty 5. Type in Call of Duty 5 and this will pop up. Type in Call of Duty 6 and a different game will pop up. One that is being made by Infinity Ward, whos turn it is to make Call of Duty. Remember this, Activision is make Call of Duty an annual thing, switching developers every year.

By the way, I think that Treyarch is a good company and Call of Duty 3 was a great game. It had fun singleplayer and multiplayer while Call of Duty 4's multiplayer is phenomenal, it's singleplayer, while jaw-dropping, it is very short, about half as long as Call of Duty 3's.Think about it.

And another thing. Why do you care if it takes place during WWII. It's in Japan, a setting that's not very common in gaming. Just play it and stop filling up the forums with this PURE TRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 From what i played of the CoD WaW beta, it wasnt that much fun, but maybe thats because i suck. Lol, i would just die, i couldnt even see who was shooting at me before i died.
