So....everytime I check out the list of community games on live, my immediate reaction is....crap. Now, granted, I probably wouldn'twant these games to begin with because they aren't commercial enough for my liking, but they look worse than the shovelware games on the Wii. And they are kinda pricey for as bad as they look, some of them. I dunno. What does everyone else think? Are community games pretty much a lost cause, is there a shred of hope around the corner or, do you think they are fine the way they are and I am just blowing this all out of proportion?

Never really tryed any, but they all looked pretty bad to me as well. If anyone knows of any that are worth checking out, please post em. I have still yet to find a better game then n+ on XBLA, besides worms. But worms doesnt really count because I used to play that back on CPU.

Really? I have a bunch of games I really like from Arcade. You should try some demos, see if anything works out for you.

I've played a couple community games, but unfortunately, they just can't compare to the commercial arcade games. I mean, it's great that Microsoft is letting users put their games up, but the quality of these games is no where near what I want in a game I actually have to purchase.

They are broadly similar to XBLA games - there is a lot of rubbish, with a few hidden gems. They are made on a much lower budget but that is usually reflected in the price they charge. So far the ones I have bought I have really enjoyed playing Miner Dig Deep - a sort of adventure game where you go mining for rare gems, buy better equipment and explore deeper. Simple game that proves to be very addictive. NextWar - a recent tower defence game - I'd never tried these sort of games until Crystal Defenders appeared, but this game will give you a similar fix for only 200MS :)
