have you connected the xbox 360 to the laptop with the cable? or have you just piled them in the corner.

alternatively, look around in the settings and all that stuff. I never had this problem, it registered straight away for me.

go to "my networks places", on the network tasks tab on the left select "view networks connections". right click on your wireless network icon. select properties, then go on a the advanced tab and check both boxes on the internet connection sharing area.

Dude, that VGA port on the side of your Laptop is VGA out, not in, it's for hooking your laptop to an external monitor, not to hook up other things to your laptop screen.

Uh, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the VGA on a laptop only output a signal, not allow for input? Are you trying to use the laptop LCD for your 360?

VGA doesn't carry sound, the only way you could've gotten sound is if you plugged the audio plug into the line in on your laptop, which you should be able to do every time, but there is no way to get picture through vga. You may be able to get a video capture card, either PC card or USB, that you can use to get the picture. but you probably won't be able to get HD, and make sure it displays the picture in real time. I have a Pinnacle HDTV ultimate stick and it has a .5 second delay. A better bet would be to just buy an inexpensive monitor, It would probably be bigger than your Laptop screen and you could use it with your laptop as well as your 360, that's what I do, just make sure if oyu get an LCD it has at most a 5ms response time, any slower will cause a lot of ghosting in the picture.

TigerDirect Has some good deals like this one, but I'm not so sure about this brand, mine is an Acer.
