Connecting 360 to WMP11

I can't connect my 360 to windows media player 11 ( not media center). I think its because I havent enabled sharing on the 360 but I don't know how to do it. Please help

IT can connect to another computer, but not to the computer I want it to connect to

Have you enabled Media Sharing in Windows Media Player 11?

You don't enable sharing on the 360 you enable it on the computer in WMP11. Also make sure you have your xbox's IP added to your computers firewall's safe zone to allow a seamless connection. Sometimes your xbox will see your computer once sharing is enabled but wontlet you play any files unless the firewall in configured. Used to get that problem with Norton 360 but never with bitdefender

go to the advanced settings and configure firewall. cant remeber exactly where in norton 360 that is to be honest but once you find it, enter your xbox 360's IP address in the trusted or safe zone. You can find your xbox's IP in the system settings, network settings.
