Can I use any monitor that has a VGA input? I tend to have bad luck buying things that cost more than $10, and I don't feel like buying a monitor that I can't use

Yes, if it has a vga imput it will work fine. I recomend it, as that what I use to play my 360 :D.

You mean with the VGA cable? Of course that will work. It's a VGA cable, it works with VGA inputs.
