Considering switching from PS4 to XB1

I gotta say I miss Halo and just Xbox Live in general. Xbox in its prime (360 last Gen) was unstoppable.

Rewind a few weeks back and my PS4 ends up breaking at college, which gives me the perfect oppurtunity to cheat on Sony and get back to my ex.

So kids give me a good reason to invest in your piece of plastic and get back with my old flame. I'm this close to betraying Sony like I did with the PS3 last gen.

Sonys exclusives are fun but PSN gets too lonely.

In all honesty, xbox is great. Halo 5 multiplayer is absolutely amazing. There is still a huge fan base that plays this game. Xbox live is awesome, and you can almost always find people talking. There are a lot of great games coming to this console, despite what fanboys say. Xbox has been much more consumer friendly than Sony, with Backwards compatibility. Game pass, ea access, play anywhere. Xbox is a great place to play games, especially with your friends

You can't play Halo, Gears or Forza in the PS4, that's enough reason for me to own X1 ( actually I own two, anyhow I also own 2 PS4 ).

Oh, I forgot to mention that Xbox is a lot more multiplayer oriented, with games like sea of thieves, cup head, crackdown 3, gigantic, halo 5, gears of war 4. They basically force you to make friends lol

Sony has been getting lazy lately + PSN sucks, while MS seems to be learning from their mistakes and generally improving upon them. I think the choice is pretty easy now, maybe not a few years ago but definitely now.

is there a reason that you cannot have both? I flip between 4 consoles plus the retropie depending on what I want to play. If you are tight on space, a PC would give you the largest selection of games in a single box.

The hardware is well built; the Xbone S is whisper quiet, small and looks good. I have always loved the 360 and Xbone controllers.

The game selection is great, and MS has been making strides to be more consumer friendly with Play Anywhere and BC. They are even working towards original Xbox game backwards compatibility. Xbox Live is quite a bit better than PSN imo.

Sure Sony has been rocking it this year with the exclusives department, but overall this gen I just prefer the Xbone. Ive hardly used my PS4 since I got it.

I like them both of course but I always say go where your friends are if you're into MP games.

If you don't care about Sony's exclusives get an Xbox. If you do care, you really have no choice but to get a PS4.

Well games is one thing. But dont forget about gamepads. Me and my friends switched to xbox because we just cant stand how PS gamepad looks and feels in hands.

Looks like a System Wars topic to me. To be honest, I'm having a hard time enjoying my xOne. Games like halo 5 were a total disappointment. Others like Dead Rising or Ryse release don other systems later on. You end up with very few actually great exclusives like Sunset Overdrive. The future also doesn't look that bright with most of the "exclusives" comming to PC as well. At this point its better to get a PC to experience the Microsoft games in the bets possible way.

It's great to play games like Gears 4 or Halo 5 with friends, so if you have friends with XB1, definitely get one.

i love my PS4 but i still plan on getting a One X cause both are fantastic systems and sorry to hear about your system breaking that sucks man. both consoles have great games and there's games on both consoles that aren't each other like the Uncharted games. if your's didn't break i'd say just keep your PS4. i'm also not going to deny that sony this summer has been total idiots but on how i look at it each company that makes video games regardless if it's X Box or PS4 or hell even Nintendo or Genesis back in the day has done some really stupid shit and they will continue at some point to do stupid shit.

the lessen they need to learn is not to make too many mistakes but what they really need to do is get rid of the guy in charge right now at Sony cause he's the one that's making all these stupid ass decisions and hire a better guy to make Sony on more equal terms with X box. rather than seeing them do countless stupid things this summer

To me the main differences that Xbox one has BC of a ton of games. I got one about a year ago, and with games with gold , previous purchases, i have close to 100 games.

PS4 has the top tier exclusives i like to play... Uncharted, God of War, Horizon zero Dawn, Last of Us, Infamous, etc. Other than that, i've been fairly disappointing with the PS4, specifically PSN. Awful flash sales, zero BC for previous purchases, lack of pS original games, and just lacks the same quality the PS3 PSN store had.

You can not go wrong with the Xbox One, I don't miss Sony one bit.

I’m also considering switching.. I already have the first model Xbox one but I had my PS4 Pro last year after it was released... I wasn’t expecting the Xbox one x to really become what it became... I didn’t think they’d actually make it this powerful and I expected a heavier price. Also after I got my ps4 Pro I barely used my Xbox one since. But I think that’s going to change by Christmas! God dame Microsoft! That is a mighty fine looking console! I think things might start chargeing for them and developers are going to want to make a exclusive games to show off. I hope so anyway!

Just look at the games coming out and make your choice off that.... Or get an S and a PS4 slim and you're good to go on both sides for less money than an X plus free games included with both systems.

I dunno about most of you but Im a gamer. People argue about the pro not hitting native 4k. Owning a 4k tv I'd rather play games at 1440p or 1800p then 1080p any day. Sony will never go the 60 fps route unfort so it is what it is. This isnt directed towards you but I find it funny when people get mad at another person bc they are playing a Xbox or PS4 then the fanboyism comes out making them look like a idiot. I dunno I grew up on Nintendo and Sega so the more consoles the better imo. PC gaming is pretty dope too. Games are wayyy cheaper at launch with PC gaming. I cant wait till next Tues to pick up the X. Im stoked for the people who pre ordered it. Either way to each there own. Cheers!

that would be me my friend, i've said this many times at many different times when i hear people say this one is better cause of this or that... i think i joined here 1st actually. so at times i just snap and i've said it many times on you tube as well.

I have had both systems and a gaming PC for years, although I originally bought the PS4 over the XB1 bc it had better hardware. I prefer RPG's on the PC, but mine is starting to get dated. The only thing I play on the Xbone are Forza games, b/c PD dropped the ball so hard on Gran Turismo. PS4 sees most of my gaming time now. I'm debating about building another gaming PC or moving to the Xbox X in about a year.

@todddow: If you got the chedda I would def build a gaming rig. Using the Steam Link turns your desk sitting Gaming PC into a console in your living room with all games you own running at 1080p 60fps. I’m pretty new to this gen PC gaming. I bought my Alienware in Feb with Asus 1080p monitor and even at @ 1080p games look great. Plus PC games are super cheap these days. Though I’m still getting used to the whole keyboard mouse deal. I try to use a Xbox controller as much as possible.

i could never get into PC gaming i tried back in the 90s' i did play Doom back in the day and i was awful at it i also played Wolfenstein i dunno which one but i also was awful at it. or shall as say i tried to play them but i'm also used to the control and at some point i realized i'm just a console guy. i tried the games i can at least say that

I would highly recommend going back to the xbox. I've been a fan of the systems microsoft has pushed out all my life and I think, especially with the xbox one x, microsoft has the advantage over the ps4.

does it really matter? both systems are outstanding as it is. the switch when i do get it at some point is also no doubt a console i will also love as well. it does drive me nuts when people think one is better than the other. both consoles are great i have nothing against people who love x box or PS4. but it's the jackass's who have nothing better than to do than diss Sony or X box, the fanboys and pony's and both consoles have that. Nintendo i hear one the year and i say good for them i'm glad to hear it as they were that high on the list with the best consoles it felt like when i was growing up. and they've been dead last and pretty much under the radar it feels like for a long time since the Wii U wasn't a huge hit like the Wii for example. so hearing them Succeed like this is really nice to hear as i also grew up playing Nintendo as well.

i have no idea if the PS5 will be a powerful system when that does come out in a couple years but honestly i just bought the PS4 last year so i don't really give a damn at the moment. plus if you have just one system you will get pissed well some people think like this anyways where they get pissed when this or that game isn't on their console. where if you have both you have the advantage of playing Certain games like Cuphead that the pS4 will never have. i knew the one X was going to be this powerful cause they did announce the specs. so i dunno why people are shocked that they weren't lying about it.. i want all 3 of the companies to succeed so it's nice when they all do.

High-end PC + PS4 Pro and 4K/UHD HDR TV (pref. OLED). Nuff said. Xbox One has no exclusives. It's a pretty dead platform. Microsoft is pushing Windows 10 / Play Anywhere for a reason. They don't care about Xbox. Xbox barely makes profit.

I'd get a Switch over Xbox One X any day of the week. Atleast it has exclusives. Altho I can emulate Zelda BOTW on my PC with 45-60 fps, 2160p. Better shadows and graphics than Switch is capable of :)
