I heard it can take up to 2 months and in your case you're getting the same results as others are. Fortunately I've never had mine die on me (knock on wood... oh crud, no wood in sight!). You should have it any day now, or at least I hope. At least you have a rental. That would be nice if microsoft covered a rental console for you... but I guess that's too much money out of their multi billion dollar accounts and that might bankrupt them. LOL

You really have a problem if you resorted to renting a console... A big problem.

While you were on the phone with the BBB did you happen to throw in some comments that the recent update bricked a ton of consoles, therefore its going to be long time before we get our consoles back because of the massive insurge of broken consoles due to the update!!!!!

BBB = Better Business Bureau

It's where people go to file complaints against poor business practices. For the most part it offers a mere sense of mental vengeance, but occasionaly, if enough complaints are received about a certain company, action can be taken to reconstruct the companies business structure or put it out of business.

Microsoft needs every customer to do that.

Their service is terrible and they do it intentionally to save money. Microsoft is soo money-driven it makes me sick.

Yeah I highly doubt that would work against Microsoft.

Why not just buy another 360 if you're already wasting money on renting it? Unless you're planning on rent to own. Just get a 360Arcade, slap your HDD on it and sell your other 360 when it gets back.

I heard it can take up to 2 months...nitroracer82

It took mine 22 days round trip.

Every time I have to send my 360 to Microsoft to be repaired I file a complaint with the BBB. It doesn't help in any way really other than temperally makes me feel like I'm sticking it to them. Other than my personal mental vengence it does little to speed up the process. But it is something that everyone with a broken 360 should do.

Microsoft Pwned my 360.

You guys are in the 96% of people that were lucky enough to buy good systems. Believe it or not there are about 350,000 of us who bought systems that were faulty out of the box, it just takes a few months sometimes for it to be apparent.I bought a 360 in May of 06'. Took care good care of it, but it RRoD in Jan of 07'. Shipped it of to be fixed, got it back 3 weeks later, and it RRoD the day I got it back.

I took great care of my launch system and it still failed two years later for no apparent reason other than changing the game. It took MS about 2 and half weeks to fix it, but now it makes loud and strange noises and has to be restarted sometimes for showing a distorted display. Pretty f'd up, I bought a Wii to hold me over but it hardly has any good games and I can't get past how awful it looks on my HDTV.

Guys seriously... Come on.

Most companies would just say "wel sux 2 b u lol!" if their system broke. At least microsoft has a FREE THREE YEAR WARRANTY on theirs.

I don't think the BBB has anything they could do.

Thefree 3 yr warranty is only available for the 3 red lights. The gfx chip burns out also, which makes the box blink one red light. That's a $99 replacement and 1 year warranty.

Man, 96% of people lucky enought to buy a good system is a very very high good percentage. I think your percentage is wrong It should be a lot lower
