Contemplating on buying Gears of War 2:GOTY Edition

Is it too late to grab a copy of this game? I'm sold in the fact that it includes the extra maps, but are people still online like before? Also, it's $30, is that even worth it? I'm aware that GeOW3 wouldn't touch the shelves no later than Q4 of 2011, which is why I want to pick up a copy, just don't know which one.

Bought the GOTY Edition say, ~25 days ago. Couple days before Bad Company 2 was out anyway.

I was playing this about 3 nights ago, matchmaking takes as long as Halo does. There's plenty of people still playing and I found matches on the map pack versions with just as much ease. I'd tell you an exact amount, but I have yet to see a number that indicates how many people are online.

and 30 bucks is worth it, you'd find it $20 minimum w/o the maps. You get like 19 maps and the deleted chapter from campaign to play through.

Itsdefinitelyworth it. The game is great plus you get a bunch of extra content. My advice is to take it. People are still playing it online.

If you have someone to play coop with it's a blast.

If you can then yes, as the extra content will save you 1600 microsoft points. I've had mine since October 20th and people still play online. You'll find horde can get very addictive after a while! The only gripe I have is that you can't exit when playing the deleted chapter and there is no achievement for completing it.

Is the online still broken? I remember the original Gears being so fun. Havent played GeOW2 since launch..

campaign is good but the multiplayer is laggy, buggy, and inconsistant.

Gears will always have a solid online community....even though the servers can still be a bit laggy at time!!!!

I was contemplating doing the same thing, not sure how much you'd get for the original considering you can buy it retail for just under a tenner here. I'd go for itbecause buying the DLC on Live would work out a lot more expensive plus you'll have a small discount with the trade in.

pretty sure it's good to go. I was playing a few nights ago, and it found matches that would keep pace with Halo, no problems at all tbh.

I'll purchase it today then, I appreciate the thoughts. Look forward to doing some Horde being that I have beat the campaign numerous times. I really hope they patched the MP though because about a year ago, it was just unplayable, hence the long time it took to search for a game.
