if the lights are rotating on your controller it means you need to change the batteries.

sometimes the dashboard isnt correct...

Just change your batteries and see if that solves the problem, if it doesnt then there's gotta be something else wrong.

The dasboard always lies when it comes to battery levels in controllers and mics. Just put new batteries in, should work like a charm.

This also happened to me. I was confused until I realized that the vibration disconnected it. Just turn off your vibration and it might solve the problem.

That doesn't matter, when I get down to three bars on my controller I have to recharge my batteries. The controller will die a lot before the batteries are actually dead. I would just charge them, there is something slightly off when it comes to this on the 360.

batteries are dead (the dashboard thing lies sometimes) and if you turn your controller off by taking out the battery pack then putting it back in then its just loose or you are somehow moving at least 30 feet away

Regardless, I'd try new batteries just in case.

llo all, The problem lies not the batteries themselves but the battery pack. This can happen when it is damaged (which it easily can be by dropping the control on the floor etc) I figured this was the case after my control kept disconnecting after my pad hit the floor, when i changed the battery pack for that of another control the problem stopped. As you can't replace the pack itself my only quick fix suggestion would be to use the charge packs available in stores

Not sure if everyone knows but batteries aren't always the same size. I find that Energizers work best, they're slightly bigger than some other brands so fit more tightly into the pack. If they're too small they can cause disconnection when controller vibrates. But I think the battery packs wear out/ break pretty easily (like Jezex said) that's what happened to mine recently =( ... Hope this helps.
