Contrast levels on LCD HD TV

What is the best level to set contrast levels at on my LCD TV. It goes from 0 - 100 and is connected by HDMI

Hi mate, it really depends the model of TV you are using. You want to have it as high as possible to give your image maximum punch but without causing blooming or clipping of white detail. Most LCDs i've used can usually be pushed to around the 90 mark before this happens.

i have a Samsung Series 6 LE22A656, at the moment its on a contrast level of 60, so should i raise it then

I would think so mate. I not sure about your particular tv but on WWW.HDTVTEST.CO.UK they say the contrast should be 95 on it's 40" brother. At the end of the day, you best go with what looks good to you. Other factors such as backlight level and ambient lighting in the room should be taken into consideration too. If you have your backlight and contrast too high in a dark room you could damage your eyes.
