Hey guys, My xbox 360 wireless controller keeps powering down during gameplay for some reason. I'll be playing, and then all of a sudden the game will pause and it will say "please reconnect the controller," at which point i look down and there are no lights on my controller. Why does this keep happening? I've tried resynching the controller with the xbox several times to no avail. Also, the lights on my controller are almost constantly spinning. It is very rare for them to be locked into the player 1, top left corner position. Any suggestions as to what my problem could be? Thanks in advance!

Maybe it's just a bad battery pack or a bad connection between the controller and the pack. Mine used to do that even with new batteries, i got a rechargable battery pack and it's fine now

Buy new batteries. De De De!

While this thread is still going I have a similar question. I have a wired controller but it kept disconecting randomly but, recently it's gotten to the point where the controller doesn't work unless I hold it in a wierd position. Help? Anyone?

Change the battaries?

Mine did it earlier when I just put new battaries in. I was playing Halo and I rounded a corner and a guy was there so I shot and then my controller went off and Im like "Ah damnit!"

I guess you're being serious about this, so my best guess is that a wire in the cable itself is loose, probably either close to the controller or close to the part that you put into the xbox. If you can strip a wire and feel comfortable fixing it, do so, if not, I think you need a new controller bud.

My controller use to disconnect randomly and, for me, it was because of the rumble pack. If I shot a gun in Vegas 2, for example, the rumble pack would become activated for a split second and then I'd get the message "reconnect the controller." But after I turned off the vibration option in all of the games i play, i have never receieved the same problem.

Well i have a bit of the same problem as well, i am running wireless on xbox 360. When i see the controller is almost dead is replace the batteries but even when i replace them the controller says (when theres a slight bump, touch, or vibration) "Please reconnect controller." You guys are assuming that the people here are noobs, and i know im not one. Anyone got any suggestions, i also dont want to turn off vibration, and my grandparents wont let me get a new controller ATM. Please help ASAP! Thanks!

(more) I also have difficulty turning on the controller when I take the battery pack out. I might have to just turn off vibrations, but Turning the controller on is painstaking Any suggestions to fix this?
