I just got my second XBOX 360 back from Microsoft yesterday after my first one fell victim to RRD. It overheated even though it was in an open area, well vented and clean. I want to cool this one somehow but I refuse to use third party cooler attatchments because they are not covered under Microsofts warranty. I was thinking of using a series of small USB fans attatched to a central hub placed around the xbox. If not, I thought of making a larger single fan rig incorporating some CO2 cartridges. The one I just got back has a Falcon chip but I dont want to take any chances. Do you have any ideas/ will my ideas work?? Also, when do the Jasper chips come out, I heard they will stop all RRD problems, True??? Thanx

1. Place your Xbox on one central square end stand in a well ventilated area where no dust floats/flies around.

2. Place 4 end tables around your one central end table to make a cross like birds-eye view. Ex: - | - or +

3. Place 4 fans on the 4 empty end tables.

I have posted on so many of these RROD, cooling posts. And no matter what you do, it's not going to help. RROD will happen, if it's bound to happen. There's nothing you can do to prevent it. Those 3rd party cooler fans actually contribute to causing RROD, so avoid them at all costs. Whether you play 8 hours a day, or 1. If your system has bad parts, it will get RROD, eventually, if not sooner. So, dont be paranoid, have fun and dont sweat it. If it happens, it happens. Get it fixed.

Get four EQUALLY sized wooden blocks or anything that is cube shaped and about 3" high and put them under the four legs. Should help a lot. Just make sure they are the EXACT same same and are STABLE or you'll end up with scratched disks.

first of all who cares if you play all day

but ya

take two blocks put them on floor make some space in the middle lay the 360 on top where both sides on blocks and the middle of the 360 floating in the air

make the rubber feet be on the blocks go and play long if you like i do sometimes like 6-8 hours stright

also

dont put the back of the 360 close to the wall that where it blows the hot air out, dont put it in small places like inside vcr spots in tv stands

dont use fans blowing on it it could blow more dust in to the system and build up just like if you ever cover off a pc then if you blow inside all dust go every where
