Friends don't let friends waste money on Core Systems :|Scarface_tm431Yeah but here's the thing: He doesn't have any internet, he doesn't care about downloading demos, and mostly all he plays are sports games and Gears of War. I agree that the Core is by far the worst one available, but for a casual sports gamer, I think its good for him. Also he doesn't have an HDTV

only convince your enemies to buy core systems, then laugh in their face and tell them to pull your finger

Look.. money is tight with him, and he isnt' taking advantage of all the 360 internet features. All he has is a PS2, so he's in dire need of an update.yup, Core system is a waste of money. It can't download anything bigger than the memory card. You should convince your friend in getting xbox360 ellite is the best deal overall.
downable from xboxlive
100+ playable demo (around 800mb average per game)
200+ xbox arcade (around 50mb average per game may be)

I'm close to convincing my friend to get a 360 core system, but I was wondering something. If it has no HD, how does it download and save dashboard and game updates? Does it do it on the memory cards? Or does it simply not take updates?yourbeliefs
tell your friend to go to any gamestop and see if they have any 360 core system (refurbished) it should only be $190 and it should work. buy a used HDD for about $60 and the total cost should be $250 trust me thats what i did and mine works fine
Yeah tell him to get a premium, then if he ever wants to step up his gaming (which if he sees how much you can do with yours, he may want to) then it'll be a lot easier and cheaper in the long runScarface_tm431Yeah well I have an Elite.. which I know he does not need.. I know its far superior, but he doesn't even have internet and I'd have to put a gun to his head to get him to buy an HDTV with HDMI

There are games coming that will REQUIRE a hard drive - in fact one is released already.
HE DOESN"T want the core - unless he plans on buying a Premium in a few months when he needs the hard drive - or plans on buying the hard drive to add to it, which costs just as much as the Premium anyway.
Do not let him buy the Core - he will regret it.
