I am 14 years old and have no knowledge of programming. Would it be possible for me to learn C# programming well enough to use XNA? What would be the best way to learn?

I never had any programing classes in high school. :( anyway, if you're still interested in creating games, there are freeware products on the internet that let you create simple games without having to know a lick of programming.

I am a C# programer and I would have to say you need some classes. You need to understaand MS .Net framework.  Once you get the hang of it, it becomes very easy, athough frusterating at times. It's like a second language to me now.

i do software at school (yr 12 ftw), based in visual basic. ill tell you right now, to be a programmer, you need to be smart, logical, and have the patients of a blind man walking down stairs. not only is it hard to learn, its hard to do once youve learnt it, every problem will require alot of your own individual creative thought on how to fix it

If you want to get into coding or game making, steer clear of MS's crap and go for the proper stuff. C++ and OpenGL. There is plenty of free compilers and tutorials online.

Keep you opinions to yourself if you have nothing good to say. All programming languages have their own purpose. Someone is asking a question about a MS product to build games on a MS console so a good starting point would be with C#. With that being said after years of programming experience, I can pick up any programming language and start programming. The logic and concepts of programming is what you need to learn. Once you have that it's easier to transition into other languages.

It is overwhelming at first and you don't know where to start. That's where classes or a mentor will help. Grasping the logic and programming concepts are the hardest part, but stick with it, it is like second nature to me now.
