Could my gamertag be corrupted?

So last night I went to turn on my 360 and I got 3 red rings so i unplugged it and plugged it back in and it works fine but then today as I went to play L4D my gamertag wouldn't load when I got an achievement. So I took my HDD off and it still won't load. Is my gamertag corrupted or is it something else? This is my first 360, I had it for about a year now and it worked fine up until now. Any help would be appreciated.

*EDIT* I formatted my HDD and when I go to the gamer profiles in the memory settings it says corrupted profile. What do I do has this happened to anyone?

A: So, I called microsoft and they took me through the process of recovering my gamertag but it wasn't the one I created on xbox.com I created it on my xbox so I lost all my achievements, my game saves, and gamerscore not that the gamerscore matters to me but that is messed up man and just last night I got 3 red rings and now this happens and on top of that the foreign dude laughed at me because of my gamertag and asked me why I picked it lol. I said my boyfriend picked it cuz I let him pick my gamertag and that's the same as my name on here. I felt so embarrassed to be on the phone after telling him that lol.

Something like this happened to me. I called microsoft and after inspecting it they gave me a free 1 year subscription to XBL
