Cox high speed internet and xbox live?

does anybody here use cox high speed internet with their xbox live, and if so how well does it work. Is there alot of lag or anything?

I have cox internet upstairs and I would like my xbox live downstairs, what can I do?? Should I buy a wireless router??? and if i buy a router to put upstairs do i have to have those adapter things for the xbox??
