What exactly were you expecting?? I played the demo, it seemed interesting. I watched a few videos of the game and it seemed like fun.

The demo, IMO, was okay, but the full version is spectacular.  I can't get enough of this game.  There are many addicting elements to the game, such as locating agility and hidden orbs and mastering skills.  I have not finished the game yest and am already looking forward to downloadable content.

Finally, someone who feels exactly the way I did when I played the demo. I was truely dissapointed but everybody and their grandmother says this game is "teh awesome-ness!" So I dont know what to believe. I watched some video footage of it this morning on Cinematech which made it look super awesome. So I guess the actual game could be good. I'm still not sure though.

The retail game is awesome.  It's not the best game on the 360 by any stretch, but as far as just all out fun factor goes, there's not too many games that have made me laugh or holler as much as this title has.  The online co-op is brilliant & I never fail to see something ridiculously cool or jaw-dropping when playing online with others.

It is open ended fun for people who like collecting and leveling up on top of the normal sandbox game.  Certain aspects of it are great, but I could see how this game can get old to people.  IMO it is the right size and seems to be shoring up to be the right length as well if you actually put time into doing the various races and collecting hidden orbs and add into it that the achievements are worked in well with the game it has felt very fresh for me so far, and I don't generally enjoy this genre of game much either.

If you want, rent the full version and try it out, then decide. This kind of game, you either love it or you hate it. I love it, but I don't like the GTA series.

because all of that gets old after a few times. don't buy into the hype. this game sucks I played the full version at my friends because I was considering buying it and we both got bored in seriously 20 minutes. this game is beyond trash and it is beyond me how so many people can actually convince themselves to enjoy this game long-term, maybe for the sake of their undying fanboy love for Micro$oft. who knows. maybe microsoft paid them to write "I love this game" all over the forums. neither or both would surprise me.

I wasn't very impressed by the demo, but I got it and I'm not sorry I did. It's entertaining, even if there isn't much to it. One could question whether or not it's worth the full $60 USD, but it's still a lot of fun and there isn't much quite like it. That being said, I think the Gamespot review is on par... a good game, but not superb.

I have the game, extream fun. You can't do much in the demo due to lack of islands (Los meutos is all you have right?), lack of weapons and lack of time.

OK im sure 'you played it in your friends house' but if what your saying is true than its not fair to judge a game after 20 minutes.....i'm guessing this guy can't get the game for whatever reason and now is trying to convince himself he is not missing out.....and 'beyond trash'?....im not even going to dignifie that with a response

Then just rent the game already & see if you like it.  What's $5 for a rental???  Then you'll know for yourself it it's worth the price of admission.

Maybe he's british. And the fact that you get stuff so damn cheep over there that we have to pay £45 for a game an dyou only pay $60, 45GBP is equivilant to about 85-90 dollers. So think before your a jerk to people. Especialy since you're new on the forums. You won't make many friends this way.

Co-Op is what makes this game so much fun. With out friends to play with this game would get old very fast. Also you gotta playing it at least on the medium difficulty or else you will just breeze through the game. The game got a 7.8 (what it deserves) and believe it or not but 7.8 games can be fun, this one just seems to be leaving people wanting more.

Yeah here in LA rental fees are like 8 to 10 bucks. My question is, why is the demo so different than the real game? In the demo you could smash your car into other cars on the road and send them flying hundreds of feet into the air without ever damaging your own car. I thought that sucked hard cause at least in GTA you car would take real damage when you abused it like that.

crackdown IS NOT worth 60$

if you have gamefly, get it, blockbuster, get it.

It wont take you longer than 4 hours to beat MOST of the game, which consists of, driving to a complex , killing all the enemies, then killing the boss, rince repeat, thats it, oh and side races, NOTHING ELSE, no weight lifting, no pimpin, no gambling, hits, drug selling, loan sharking, cab driving, bus driving, etc etc etc etc. Oh and if I wanted a game to run fast jump high and collect orbs I would just play sonic or mario.

I agree with you. When I first played the demo I thought the game was crap, played it again and I thought it wasn't as bad as I thought it was the first time, played it a final time and thought it was complete crap again. I don't know if everyone is just blinded by the fact that they are gonna get to kick some ass in Halo 3 in a few weeks or what.

I agree, the Demo of Crackdown did seem to disappoint me and ruin my expectations of the game, in my opinion, the Demo should be just as fun as the actual game and highlight the best parts of it in order to attract a bigger audience, but it just didn't do that, unfortunately.

Why do people think that asking a bunch of random (most likely bias) people is going to help them decide if they want the game? There is much much better sources of info on the game like the DEMO, or videos, or screens, or one of the professional reviews that are out, hell I would even consult some user reviews before I came into the forums asking. But yeah lets just ask a bunch of random people and start off by declaring that you already found the game not fun, real smart.

The games kinda fun, it has so much potential I think they could have really made it a superb game instead of just a good game. Maybe another studio will put the concept to better use....

Why do people come into the forums acting like complete idiots throwing in their stupid coments like their cool....if you have nothing to do better with your time then try to bash everyone in here, go back to sitting in your moms basement playing all by yourself cuz you have no girlfriend, no friends, and your videogame life IS YOUR LIFE.....sorry guys, he pissed me off.....so can someone explain the Online better??

Damn dude, a little high strung are we? I was just trying to point out there is better info out there then most of the bias info you get here. The forums are good for specific questions, not is this game good? Online is only Co-Op 2 player. But you could always fight one on one if you wanted.

When I first played the demo I wasn't very impressed either. However, I decided that I would still buy the full version and I'm very glad I made that choice. The full version, for whatever reason, is much more fun than the demo was, IMO.

If you're looking for a game with a plot, this isn't for you.  If you're looking to come home from work and hop into something where you can mindlessly demolish anything in your path, and the need to do that supercedes the plot thing, this is for you.

And I wasn't saying that trying to knock the game too hard, but let's face it, there isn't much of a story, it's fairly short and it's pretty much the same mission over and over.  I enjoyed it anyway despite all that.

Wow, bunch of people who did'nt like the demo still buying the game?... Must be some big Halo fans. As for Crackdown, I wouldn't go as far as complete garbage or whatever buddy said but I wouln't go above an average rating of 5.0 either. Unless the H3 beta is worth the price of Crackdown to you then I would check out the demo before making the purchase. Sum up Crackdown in three letters... M-E-H.

I had no interest in this game up until the demo. After playing the demo I gained interest in it and bought it when it came out. It's a fun game, as long as your not the type of person who just tries to beat the story. In my opinion one of the main parts of the game is actually leveling up your character by collecting orbs and killing gang members by hand, explosive, or gun. It's a very fun game but it's by no means ground breaking. If you can deal with those things, you should enjoy the game.

Believe me man. What you played in the demo is not far away from what the full game has to offer.

Your sadistic attitude towards this gmae doesn't mean that everyone will genuinly hate it for the same reasons as you or at all. Me, personally i loved the game and cannot get enough of it, yet I'm not a microsoft fanboy infact this is my first microsoft console and even used to be very anti micrsoft till i realised games are games.

Nothing makes Crackdown different from any other game ever made: Some people will hate it and other will love it. I must say I am surprised at the pure hate some people have for this game, as you can see in this topic.

The game is indeed crapdown, no way I'm wasting 60 bucks to get the garbage. The only reason people say its awesome is because they were gullible enough to waste money to get it for the lousy Halo 3 beta which people are impatient and can't wait for the game istelf.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but this game is missing something that just takes the fun out of everything. I have no idea what it is, maybe its just the fun itself.
