I took my copy of gears of War 2 to Gamestop today, intending on trading it in, they wouldnt take it,and pointed out 3 small cracks around the center hole. Its the CE of Gears, so it has that aluminum case, with the stiff plastic inside, and the disc doesnt come out so easy. I assume thats where the cracks came from.

Is there a large risc of playing the disc in my 360? Will it shatter, and ruin my 360?

I wouldn't, just to be safe. It would suck if you started playing it and the thing broke inside of your 360.

I have had the same prob except with Oblivion, i think the reason was that my old 360 was moved alot, things started to sound like they were coming loose perhaps nicking the disc as it spin, yeah I had it standing up vertical. Got me a new 60GB Pro and that already works a heap better than when i had the premium. HDD is the wasto go if you want to play your games, hands down.
