I've been looking around to find a good new game that has been recently released or will be released soon to play in the summer. Problem is, lately all i've seen is crap. The closest decent game is Bioshock and that's in August. Please let me know if i'm seriously missing a good summer game.
Blasphemous melancholy! Hmm, you could pick up some old titles you may have missed. There's the Dynasty Warriors Gundam game and Blue Dragon, but those don't appeal to most people, and they're both coming out at the end of August. August is still Summer, but that's also around when school starts. If you're looking for something in June-July, then there really isn't anything worth buying, besides old games that you almost certainly missed.

its summer which is when its the hottest time over hear and there's no real major hoildays but school gets out a littlebefore summer and we get a big 2-3 month break from school
holiday season is november-december. back on topic, i'm not really into realistic racing games like forza, and I no gamespot isnt always right but they only gave shadowrun a 6.9.
they mean around early december probably. this is the holiday season because thanksgiving is in november (American Holiday), then christmas in december.
Any game in which you can rip your enemies to pieces with daggerlike-toothed demon tentacles protruding from your back is worth $60 to me. (The Darkness)
Best bet is to buy a retro game bud and live itup. XBox 360 just have way to many crappy games atm and what Im waiting for is GtaIV, halo 3 and Mass effect, games that tell great stories with good gameplay.Lol at shadowrun you just better off playing counter strike, for 60 bucks Shadowrun is defiantly not worth the price and thats my honest word the only reason its even getting attention cause theres alot of bad games outand people are just desperate for something to grasp and get enjoyment.Helll the only thing I think will make Shadowrun worth 60 bucks is the narrator who says Game on! that's probably the best thing about it.Good thing I have handhelds to keep me company else I will sit in the corner and write my ABC.
dirt, forza 2, shadowrun, overlord, madden 08, ncaa 08, all pro football 2k8 (something like that), tons of great games this summer. summer is the time to try and be outside anyways
Well, Theres: Shdaowrun, Forza 2, C&C, Darkness.. More. Well I named some old, sorta old games. But if you have not played them the you should try. If all elas fails get a good online game, Shdaowrun or Gears should last.
What!? let's see: DiRT, The Darkness, Overlord, All-Pro Football 2K8 (spiritual succesor to the greatest football game ever NFL 2K5), Two Worlds, MotoGP 07, Too Human and Stranglehold just to name a few. And those are between now and August. So I don't think you're looking very hard.

your standards for games are really high. why don't you take your time enjoying the games you have instead of complaining. Back in the 16-bit days we'd be lucky to get 2-3 games a year....i miss those day... now it's all about purchasing 2 games or more at a time. People have gotten really greedy.

hah wow. exactly. i think all i had one year was Shinobi 3 & Gunstar Heroes on Genesis. Most addictive games.

Shadowrun got the score that it did for 2 reasons: it's too expensive ($60) for the amount of single player content, and it took a critically acclaimed RPG and turned it into a FPS. Having said that, the game effing rocks. I played it last night for 3 hours, and it's a blast. I think it's probably the most solid FPS on the 360 to date in terms of gameplay, and the graphics are better than expected. Don't forget The Darkness. I think this game will be a high AA maybe even a low AAA title only because of the fact that you can disembowl the bad guys with two demon snakes attached to your body, which as it sounds is pretty sweet.

I agree, they should rename Too Human to Too Cool.
It seems that some people have no patience. If you must have an awesome game for the summer, go get The Darkness when it comes out. Starbreeze studios has an awesome rep in my book, and the game-play trailers look awesome. But if you wait until September, you can buy Mass Effect, which looks to be a completely mind-blowing game.
Well Summer is always seen as being slow in terms of game releases. having said that there are usually a few good games that come out during this time.
Haven't really noticed it being slow this year though. I guess cos I am actually busy at the moment (for once).
For me, Bioshock and Blue Dragon should be enough to tide me over till the fall when things will pick up again. Like you, I can't wait for Mass Effect. That game was one of many reasons I decided to get 360 instead of a PS3 haha.

Why would you want to play games during summer when you can be out on the beach or partying ?
