You don't need a high spec PC to play the original.
You need a mid range PC to max it out - something the consoles obvisouly aren't going to do. A cheap gaming PC can easily play the game at better than console settings.
The textures for the Pc version of Crysis 1 aren't that great (without mods at least), but the textures in the footage are really bad.
Still the gameplay should be something quite different for console gamers. You guys should definitely give this game a shot.
To run this game at max, you need much more than a mid-range pc. It is not that much different than what console gamers already play. Crysis is the Avatar of video games. It is a first person shooter that everyone flocked to because of the visuals, just like a Avatar was a generic movie that everyone flocked to because of the visuals. You don't need a high spec PC to play the original.

QED.
Also, how many sandbox shooters with the polish of Crysis and the huge areas involved do the consoles have?
It's definitley not the typicla console shooter. You might not like it's style but it's definitely different, and IMHO, very good. Certinaly owuld play it over somehting liek call of duty's corridor of whack-a-mole and cutscenes, any day of the week.

Don't try and argue this dude. That's less than 30 FPS on very high. It doesn't matter, when Crysis came out the best cards available couldn't max it with AA on. The point is its coming out for consoles, not to compare it to the PC version. Please Log In to post.
