So I got my 360 not too long ago, and have gotten my hands on some great first/third-person shooters (COD4, GTA4, etc).. but I feel like I'm lacking a really different genre game, specifically RPG since I used to love and play them all the time.

I've been doing some looking around and only see Mass Effect out, which is an RPG, but still a shooter game.

I was just wondering if there are any other games that are a must-play RPG that is out or coming out.. I've been looking at upcoming games and there's: Fallout 3, Tales of Vesperia, Infinite Undiscovery, The Last Remnant, Too Human (which I heard was bad), and maybe I'm missing some.. but I just can't decide what I should get.. or what I should be waiting for.. or perhaps some other genre games that are fun and stay away from the shooter type genre..

I currently own: Crackdown, GTA 4, COD4, Ninja Gaiden 2, Halo 3, Gears of War, Forza Motorsport

Oblivion is the greatest RPG ever made (my opinion of course). It's immersive, expansive and addictive and will give you literally hundreds of hours of gameplay (if you do everything the game has to offer).

Some ones coming out soon of note are Fallout 3 and Fable 2, the latter more of a traditional RPG than the former. Both should be really good if previews and such are anything to go by.

OBLIVION FTW!

How could I forget? I've heard a lot of things about Oblivion and Fable 2 is an obvious "gonna-get".

Are there any good turn-based RPG games? I heard the Last Remnant is one, but that's not out for another month and a half...super excited for it though. I guess I'll have to dl the Oblivion demo

Eternal Sonata is a turn-based RPG. Very good, unique story and design, nice music and voice acting, also just a lot of fun.

Well, besides Oblivion, what is out already that's good to play? I've heard Eternal Sonata had some pretty horrid aspects to it.. so I'm not sure I want to play that..

No its not turn basde. What it is is that your in a circle with a mage or a healer, at the edge of the the circle while inside. then what you do is you walk/run in the circle while slashing at the beast. Then the healer heals you while you fight and you have team members helping you fight at the same time. nothing turn basde about that.

To be honest mate, if you want a good RPG now, your only really looking at something like Oblivion. Of course there is Eternal Sonata, but it just isn't as good as oblivion (well in my opinion) because Oblivion is simply a game you cant miss. However, the game is in first person, altough you are able to switch to 3rd person, the game works much better in first, meaning you might encounter a bit of deja vu from your shooting experinces

I have to say....mass effect is ace, the shooting aspect feels nothing like other 3rd person shooters like Gears, it's great fun and the conversation options are great, a very good game with an immersive story, I highly recommend it :D

For WRPG Oblivion and Mass Effect are modern cl assics, apart from that you wont find a lot of quality WRPG. It seems Bioware, Bethesda and Lionhead are the only companies making quality console WRPG. Bethesda and Lionhead are about to release Fallout 3 and Fable 2 so check them out. From these three companies you can also but their old xbox titles and play them backward compatible, these are: Fable 1, Jade Empire, The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind and KOTOR(2).

Im not up to date with the JRPG and I only bought Lost Oydssey which is great if your into JRPG, sadly it couldnt interest me enough and my 360 agreed since the second disc kept freezing.

My recommendations are any console WRPG made by Bethesda, Bioware or Lionhead. Correct me if im wrong but that woudl be; Mass Effect, Oblivion, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Fable 1, Jade Empire, The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind and KOTOR(2).

I almost forget, there also is Sacred 2, the first was a good PC hack 'N slash RPG and it might not work well on consoles or be a huge failure like Two Worlds (a WRPG that I liked but couldnt recommend). But I woudl keep track of it if your into HacK N Slash RPG.

Eternal Sonata deserves another mention as well because it is a very good game. My favorite RPG on the 360.

Lost Odyssey is another decent to very good RPG, depending on your tastes.

Enchanted Arms is fair to decent, but I enjoyed it enough to finish it.

I'd recommend Eternal Sonata, I'm a huge fan of it.
