i play randomized tunes in saints row, ccrackdown, and doa4. in gears i dont play any music in campaign but online i usually turn on some metal. when i get oblivion i dont think ill use custom soundtracks unless im just roaming the countryside for a long time or doing something else boring.
I use custom soundtracks all the time, but other than the ability to stream music anywhere anytime I prefer the original Xbox custom soundtrack feature. GTA San Andreas was a prime example where it could innermix the funny ads and talk show bits with your custom music, and you had in-game control rather than through the dashboard.
I also wish random play worked with playlists and that you could toggle music as always on or only when in-game music was being played.
I guess placing it is the OS simplified things for users and gives us the ability to use our music at all times, but there were a number of great Custom Soundtrack games on the Xbox that added great features to the ability that sadly now on the 360 won't be possible.

Oh yeah! That's probably my favorite feature! Big open games where you need to look around/do alot off little things to get achievements like saints row and crackdown I need my own music!

I listen to Hip Hop when I'm racing and indie to keep me calm and cool during chillout games like Viva Pinata and some cool John Mayer when playing Gears. Yes, I have a weird taste in music.

No. I hardly ever use that feature with my 360 games mostly because I forget that it's even there. I don't know. It's not really a big deal any more like it was with me and the first Xbox. -K
