DAM THAT INTERCOOL! Cooler my A***!

I bought that nyko intercooler and recivied it today, from play.com. I found it hard for every thing to click and then when it all seemed to click in the back it took a few attempts to get the power cable in properly. Any ways i got it to work.... AND THE RED LIGHTS COME ON! 4 of them. so after i had finished sh**ing my self, i turned it off fast..

Any ways is 4 red lights = good buy 360 or just it over heated.

Oh and has any one else has this problem

4 red lights mean the AV cable isn't connected. 3 red lights mean bye bye 360, 2 red lights mean overheat and i'm not sure what one red light means. george_hopkins

The red lights are explained in the users manual that came in the box. I'm not positive but I think 4 red flashing lights means the av cable isn't connected.sessiz

The intercooler isn't a scam, feel all the heat it blows out the back?  Thought so.  Make sure you plug it in tight and you won't get the red light.

Since I got it, it freezes alot less.

No it doesn't, that's why a bunch of 360's are overheating.  You feel alot more heat coming out the back with the intercooler.  Don't tell me you don't.

one red light ...i unno what it means ...but ive got it 5 times before...alll i did was turn it off then turn it back on....it worked again...and these were spaced apperances of those beautiful red lights

Mircrosoft even has advised people not to buy this since it will cause problems, they just cant go out in public and annouce it cause they will lose support in stuff like that.

Correct. 4 lights means cables arent properly connected.

You still shouldent put that thing on your 360. Its just a bad idea. your 360 tells you that its overheating way befor it gets dangerously hot. 2 red lights is over heating btw.

Yeah, I bought that crappy cooler myself cuz my 360 is kind of in a tight spot with not a ton of ventilation. I got the dreaded 3 red lights of death on mine. Good thing I was still under warranty but it was scary. Word of advice: Don't ANYONE buy this P.O.S!Rasskal33

I love how people bash things so badly.  I;ve had mine for over 9 months now, and I play every day, AND I have a launch system, and i;ve never had a single problem.

My intercooler just did the samething. 4 red lights. And I was freakin' out! As for it be a piece of crap, since I got it, my xbox has not frozen once, as it had a few times in the past. So, what to do? I'd say, for those of you that have the intercool, make sure the cable is firmly in the intercooler and that the intercooler itself is in right and tape it in. Cable wont come out which means no red lights (4 of them that is. I checked the manual.). You can see it's really easy for the cable to come out of the port, it will just slide in and out, go ahead and try it. (makes sure the xbox is off!) For those that don't have a intercooler andthink it will help, it will. It's a fact, the cooler (not on ice, just cooler) a computer runs, the easier it is for said computer. So it WILL do what it says, just make sure the power plug is in and wont come out. My 2 cents.

 

Note: Use Electrical tape. I'm pretty sure duct tape will work, but I'd use Electrical tape just to be on the safe side.

It means there's something wrong with the either the AV cable or the AV chip. In my case, it was the chip. My games started looking a bit pixilated about a month before I got the red light. I've read that you can simply replace the cable with another, but that didn't work for me.
